Wikipedia pages are updated. Quinn to LSU and Del to USC. Whether it is true or not we will see.

Won't lose sleep over either of these I think.
I will say the WRs did improve as a group later in the season, but as a position group they were not impressive last year and half of this year. Some of that could have been Styles and Colzie pushing Austin and Lenzy for playing time after Cincinnati though.
There's some word that Quinn has health issues that affected him recently. If that's the case I do wish him well and hope his health improves, but I hope we pull in someone really good for the OL too.

I want to see the unfiltered play calling and offense. Next game. No Kelly looking over his shoulder. Let 'er rip.

I have been critical of Rees. I am not sure if some of the issues I had with him are because of Kelly and his visions. But it was clear last night the love he has for these players and this university.

I am excited about about the youth of the staff and I am excited to see what the future holds for this group. They seem to be really good recruiters.

I also know that yes they have experience but this staff is going to have some young blood making the calls and that may or may not cause a set back here or there. I know I am probably the one that needs to heed this advice the most sometimes and have patience with them taking over.

I'm super happy that Rees is retained. He is a true Notre Dame Man.. love him.

That said, his apparent value does not square with our assessment of him as an OC throughout the season. I was never under the impression that he's a dog on the recruiting trail and I was also really surprised to hear that Kelly valued him enough to attempt to make him the highest paid OC in the SEC. Was Kelly really holding him back from a play-calling and scheme perspective all season or is that just spin from the ND camp?

Year 1, he improved upon the Chip Long disaster.

Year 2, he struggled with the OL issues and has adapted the offense as the year has gone on.

I agree that he has not performed yet like some ace offensive coordinator. And he does not have the pedigree to warrant a huge contract at this point in his career. But you know what? It’s not my money and the players allegedly love him so fuck it. Write the check Jackie boy.

This is one I am a little perplexed about too....I don't see him as an elite play caller, recruiter, or fiery guy that gets the team going. Curious as to whether this is truly Freeman's pick, or if he just feels it's best to keep status quo....I also think BK was doing Rees a favor, knowing he was going to stay, and helped him get a raise....Probably wrong as BK has always proven he's about himself, but I think he likes Rees and did him a favor here.

Dan Patrick reporting that the key to the entire deal was Tommy agreeing to stay on. Something of a package deal with Tommy and Marcus. Jack wanting as much continuity as possible. Also reported that Jack was aware that Fickell would not leave until after the season is over.

Classy move by Fickell. I'm sure he was thinking of others besides himself on that decision....Hopefully Cincy rewards him with a big raise he deserves it.

He mentioned that as a reason. Didn't want to bail on the team like some others.

I’ll admit he struggled at the beginning. But the kid adapted and has the offense rolling

Did Tommy struggle? Or did Quinn's struggles cause Tommy's plan to not work?
(Tommy / Kelly should have switched to new offense sooner, but I think they wanted the O that they practiced all summer/fall and try to make the Oline step up, which it didn't until after Tommy waived the white flag and chained the O).

That's where I'm at. The OLine clearly improved, so nothing against them. But it's tough for me to tell if it was the changes in the offensive scheme or OLine improvement (or both) that precipitated more offensive success.

I believe she had a sports psychology/mental health role from what others said on here.

Private jet use, noice!

I'm sure we will see an announcement by Jack stating they are renovating the Gug and building a 100,000 sq foot extension just as an F you to Kelly lol

My main issue with Tommy is the QB situation. Don’t feel it’s been recruited well since he’s been here. I like him as an OC.

It's hard for just about any school to land a true 5 star QB, much less one that lives up to expectations. Despite that, Tommy has arguably gotten the most out of the guys we have on roster. They correctly inserted Book over Wimbush, stars be damned. Book certainly played above the ceiling that scouts had him under. Look how every QB, Wimbush included, stumped for him to be retained this week. That speaks volumes what they think of the guy.

As for this year, it can be said that all three QBs looked prepared in the time they had on the field. We had some costly turnovers against Cincinnati, some of which was a credit to that team, but any struggles at QB were solely a result of poor OL play. That's on Quinn, and maybe one bad recruiting year under Harry when he was on the way out. They were able to adapt the offense to minimize the struggles on the OL over time, and it resulted in an efficient and potent attack. In a year we were expected to go 8-4 or 9-3 we exceeded expectations and more than that the future is very bright on offense with all these freshmen we played this year.

I am hopeful that Tommy will have a better product to sell to QBs if he moves to a less conservative style of offense.

I hope she also says no to LSU.

Seriously, they need to also retain her as part of the staff.

BK did manage to steal her script in his first address to the players, low blow. I think Moala pointed that out.

Really good interview with Tommy on the Ryan Russillo podcast. Gave the whole timeframe of how things went down (for a time he was planning on going to LSU), how Freeman and offensive autonomy were factors in him staying, him and his dad hated ND growing up, and some other interesting things. We’ll worth the listen.

I think they key word is autonomy. I have been more critical of Tommy than most. But, it appears BK was heavily involved, more than perhaps people thought. So I am willing to wipe the slate clean. #FreeReesus
