Yeah, go look at ESPN’s playoff predictions. Seven of the fourteen writers voted Bama in the playoffs. And that was all with Georgia being #1. So 7 ESPN pundits think a two loss Bama gets in. Total bull shit.

Clearly this guy understands.

This is absolutely not the narrative on tv. If Bama wins the SEC they are in and they are thought to be in with a loss to UGA. Eyeball test something something.

Eye test? You mean bama going to OT against a 6-6 auburn team? Or the 6pt win against a 6-6 LSU team who had a chance to win? Or was it the 2pt win against Florida? The 6-6 Florida team.

Don’t get me wrong we had close wins but those were at the beginning of year. We have looked way better the last half of year. Bama has not looked that good 3 out of the last 4 weeks.

Bama loses in SECCG there is absolutely zero chance they make it. ZERO

That’s cool it’s not my opinion. I’m just passing on what a large majority of the talking heads last night were saying. My personal opinion is that a close loss to UGA is still going to allow them in and I fully expect them to best UGA in the SEC. Champ game anyway.

But what is it that makes you say a 2 loss bama deserves it over a 1 loss ND?

My opinion is that I’m saying the CFP committee would keep them in. Clearly no one knows ultimately because we aren’t the CFP but I find it more likely that they would include them even with two losses. I could be wrong and I’m not betting the house or anything so ….

I don’t disagree. I personally think Bama should fall behind Cincy this week, but the committee won’t do it.

I view the SECCG as an elimination game for Bama. If they lose, they should be out even if it’s a close one. Two loss teams should not get in when there are plenty of one loss teams to take their place who look as good as them.

But for whatever reason the committee and a lot of media people still view Bama as a juggernaut this year.

Gotcha so you are just saying what you think the committee would do?

Personally if they do that then no reason to even play regular season games. If a 2 loss team can get in over a 1 loss team that has just as good of wins and around the same SOS then what’s the point of playing the regular season.

Might as well just play the playoffs in September and have bama Georgia OSU and whoever has the 4th best recruiting ranking the previous year

Yes that’s it. I hold no strong position one way or they other because who knows what those fruitcakes are gonna do depending on money, eyeballs in tv and other factors that have zero to do with actually playing the games to find out who is they best.

A 2-loss team has never made the playoffs and there is no way it happens this year. They would have to jump 2 of 13-0 Cincy, 12-1 Michigan, 11-1 ND and 12-1 Ok State. The only way Alabama makes the CFP is by beating Georgia.

Now if 2 of Ok State, Michigan or Cincy lose then a 2-loss team is in bc there aren’t enough 1-loss teams to fill the bracket.

Because people are stupid and don’t realize that every year is different. These are the same people who don’t want us in the playoff because we’ve been blown out in big games in the past and think we’re a fraud, even though those games have NOTHING to do with this year’s team. If they think we’re a fraud and will get blown out then put us in against UGA or even Michigan and see what happens. If we get blown out then they can complain and call us a fraud, but until then they can all be quiet and stop complaining. It’s not our fault that Bama lost to A&M earlier in the season. If their precious Bama had won that game then they’d be in the CFP regardless of what happens next week. Same thing with OSU. If they hadn’t lost to Oregon in week 2 then they’d likely be in even with yesterday’s loss.

Nobody in the media wants ND in the playoffs at 11-1. It's unlikely the media's opinion is similar to the CFP committee but you have to wonder why there is such anti-ND bias by the media this year.

Silver lining - I don't think 2 loss Bama has a chance to get in now after that Iron Bowl.

In the collective media mind, an 11-1 ND is more comparable to an 11-2 Baylor Big 12 champ or a 12-1 cincinnati than they are to a 12-1 Okie St Big 1w champ or a 13-0 cincinnati. I honestly think there will be media that chose to debate ND still not deserving even in the chaos situation we all want (cincy loss, okie st loss, Michigan loss).

As it pertains to ND? Yes.

But look how many have written out Bama cuz they expect them to lose whereas no one is writing ND for a Baylor, Iowa win.

Looking at Alabamas schedule I’m not quite sure what the committee, or pundits on ESPN are seeing. Their schedule has been inflated by SEC bias. Close wins against LSU, Auburn and a bad Florida team. Heck they lost to an average at best Texas A&M team. Couple that with a few blowouts against New Mexico State, Mercer and Southern Miss.

There is absolutely no reason Alabama should be considered with two losses. They weren’t even as competitive against Auburn as a five loss Penn State team. Hopefully either the B1G or the Big 12 eat themselves in the championship game. ND can slide into the top 4 and shoot their shot.

Seems most likely the Irish are NY6 bound. Who's the preferred matchup between: Pitt, Ole Miss, MSU, Baylor, and Oklahoma? I'd love to see them play Oklahoma this year, that would be a good matchup for the Irish.

I’ll take any of those teams, and I’d reckon ND would be a heavy favorite over all but Ole Miss.

MSU, PITT, Baylor, OU, Ole Miss in that order for me.

Sorry to disappoint those who think they know, but without total chaos, Bama WILL NOT get in with a loss over us. It will not happen. Here’s a clue, stop watching ESPN. They thought Michigan would get in over an undefeated ND with their loss being to that ND team! They though UGA should get in over ND with two losses previously. They’re always on OSU, Clemson, Bama and UGA’s jocks. Stop allowing good judgment to be clouded by Herby, the fat guy with a lisp and others on those clown shows. They have an obvious bias and agenda.

I have zero doubts about ND getting in over Bama should Bama lose. I’m more concerned with Ok St jumping ND with an impressive win. The committee thinks the Big 12 is poop and if Ok St squeaks it out, I still think ND has a very good chance. If Ok St looks great, they’re probably getting in.

Money. They have a lot to gain by the conferences they carry to get in/be in the mix. It’s about eyeballs and ad money. It always boils down to money. Good news is ND brings that in droves from the committee’s POV. That’s what matters. Not ESPN talking heads

This is the correct take. ND’s clearest path in is Baylor beating Oklahoma State and Bama losing.

Regardless, I also think that people need to appreciate how soft ND’s strength of schedule is and how hard it will be for ND to get in over comparable teams at this point. Wisconsin losing to Minnesota really took away ND’s only quality win.
