You'd like an echo-chamber where the same small handful of right-wingers on here give you a pat on your little tushy (but not in a gay way because that is wrong!) and there's no pushback from anyone. This group has largely killed all of the political forum threads due to this behavior, forced IE to hide them, so it's rich for you to cry about not being able to have a real discussion. You can't answer simple questions so don't pout that it's someone else's fault now that you're the aggrieved and oppressed one.

I hope you see the irony about crying over a book for children then struggling to defend yourself while calling someone else a 5-year old.

Interesting topic. I have family whose life work is getting people out of the sex trade and providing aftercare and services for them. My 5 best friends from Indiana are all divorced either due to infidelity or porn addiction. 3 of 4 my best friends locally know are in some sort of counseling for marriage (infidelity) or porn addictions. I have a friend that thinks jews are responsible and control the porn industry to control people.

On a professional level addiction and recovery was basically what I did most of my 10-12 year Social Work career. I worked in a treatment facility for juvenile sex offenders as well.

Come on BnF, this wouldn't be nearly as fun as getting outraged because someone doesn't approve of certain relationships. What's ironic is the Catholic religion has particular views and this board is for a FB team from a Catholic university. Many of the posters are practicing Catholics and apparently many are not. In closing I will say that I had my fun in HS, but if having the most sex partners after getting married determines the winners, I'm getting lapped and will finish a strong last!

What do you think is at the root of all this? Do you think there is a singular root for each or each has its own primary problem?

If you are a Christian/Catholic your definition of sex is wildly different than the current world view of sex. Sex would be something isolated to your spouse and your spouse only. Dare I even say with your opposite sex spouse. I think the problem is that over the years the sanctity of marriage and even sex has been watered down. People today probably get married now more for financial reasons than anything else. Imagine if there were zero benefits to being married. Would people even see the point of marriage? If, to most, marriage is somewhat meaningless then sex would be as well.

To one of your other points. I know more than a few women who have went under the knife to improve appearance in a few areas. One person got her boobs done but would be the first to complain if she felt someone was looking at them. She has even made the comment that she got the surgery to boost her confidence professionally and she did not want to be seen as an “object”.

Working as a social worker with the juvenile sex offenders was really eye opening. I thought I was in some sort of hidden camera show. Therapists and others were told/trained that “healthy” sexual coping mechanisms were to look at porn and masterbate. This place was supplying adolescent juveniles with material they not only kept but most of them plastered all over their walls. Some of them even carried binders of porn like baseball cards. This is what the world is teaching what healthy sex looks like. Then they were to go to group counseling and talk about how they are apologetic for touching their sister or typically some other relative. I wouldn’t have thought this was a big deal but then realized other states and other facilities started coming to visit to see how things were done to start modeling after this facility. There was an all male group home of 18 year olds. Two boys started engaging in a sexual relationship and the facilities top minds got together and brainstormed if this was a healthy outlet for their sexual issues. It quickly became the group home of sex and had to be quickly squashed.
