Ngo posts a lot of stuff from the Autonomous zones that were in Seattle and now one that has popped up at the George Floyd "Memorial." It's the stuff fake news won't show you, the militant and non-inclusive side of these protestors. More of the "mostly peaceful" bullshit.

Can't embed from phone:

https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/andy-ngo-right-wing-troll-antifa-877914/

He has hung out with PB's in the past, got deleted from Quillette for posting fake news, fired from his campus newspaper for misrepresenting an event to promote islamophobia, falsified an event claiming to have cement thrown at him, posted a debunked conspiracy to try and incite violence (https://www.nationalobserver.com/20...ation-activists-after-deadly-el-paso-shooting).

Oh, and here's a video of him involved with planning an attack with a far-right group https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awN9J88j4mA.

He's an obvious troll and it's unfortunate so many are hellbent on owning the Libs. Modern day Nigerian prince stuff.

Cant say anything about Andy Ngo, or defend him in anyway. But I can say I've seen him cover Antifa, and we have all seen those Antifia Pos's attack him. Antifa ppl (to quote Tupac Shakur) need to "....die slow and I hope their kids don't grow."

I honestly don't follow anything Ngo says or does outside of his coverage of the protests. I'll link videoes from back when the CHOP was alive, or the recent video of the Autonomous zone now setup at the Floyd Memorial. That's the real stuff the media isn't showing.

But he says the stuff I like!!!!

For me, I have not stayed very up to date on him. I recall there being some wild video clips I found interesting.

People who follow him seem to all have very strong opinions on the guy though lol.

Ngo is fake news. He's got other videos linked from the protest tonight.

The guy who's been fired at every job he's had for misrepresenting the truth or hanging out with white supremacists is certainly a great source. If I can't get a good Infowars or Project Veritas video, Andy is my next favorite.

Yeah I’d be willing to watch his videos covering the Insurrection. If anyone finds those let me know.

The worst part about him is that it's so naked, the grift is so obvious. My favorite is the "I don't know anything about him" when people have constantly told them about who he is. At some point, they just love the person and not only the videos.

I still say Insurrection is a rather strong word for a protest that lasted no more than a few hours and it was over as soon as the NG asked them to leave. That's like saying the Anglo-Zanzibar War was a prolonged military engagement, when it was a battle that really only lasted an hour. There were a few idiots that had something more planned, but they didn't follow through. It wasn't like some contingent of people hunkered down and created an Autonomous zone or put up a real fight. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone what was done, the people that breached the Capitol should have never gone in. Those that breached SHOULD be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, much as the protesters that took over downtown Seattle last year (Were they? I hope they were). That said, there was absolutely no real danger of them "taking over." Congress reconvened the very same evening to finish the vote.

As far as Ngo, there were plenty of mainstream media outlets that covered the Capitol protest. None of them are are following the continuing protests on the west coast. Right now the George Floyd Memorial is still occupied and mainstream media hasn't been talking about it.

Insurrection is the exact word. It was an attempt to stop the peaceful transition of power after all of the other attempts failed to hand the election to Trump. Trump knew Jan6 was the last day they would have to try something. They pressured Pence and when he didn’t do it the assaulted the Capital. It was an attempted coup. I’m not being hyperbolic. I’m not using a word in a manner incorrectly. It was an insurrection and people died.

seeing people normalize this is terrifying.

People died, yes...from heart attacks. The only death they know of that was a direct result of violence is Ashli Babbitt who was shot trying to enter. 5 deaths, 3 of which were heart related, Babbitt being the 4th, and the last being the unfortunate death of Officer Sicknick. While he was struck in the head with a fire extinguisher, just a few weeks ago Newsweek reported it was still unclear what the cause of death was as other health factors may have contributed to his death.

Trump called for the protesters to disperse multiple times during the fracas, and any calls he made to stop the transition of power prior were vague at best. It's one of the reasons they couldn't make the impeachment stick. An insurrection is defined as "an organized attempt by a group of people to defeat their government and take control of their country, usually by violence." There was nothing organized about that group of people, they didn't have a plan and they dispersed as soon as the NG told them to leave. Violent? There were a handful that were violent, but it was a mostly peaceful protest (See what I did there?). Again, for all the pearl clutching over 5 deaths only one was confirmed as a direct result of violence, that being Babbitt. That doesn't mean the deaths weren't unfortunate and preventable, but citing the deaths is kind of silly when only Sicknick's death can be attributed to possible violence by the protesters. He was still able to return to the station afterwards as oppose to going directly to a medical facility, which lends itself to the fact his cause of death is still unconfirmed.

So, no, insurrection isn't the exact word because it doesn't fit the definition.

“pearl clutching over 5 deaths”

smh

You know what I mean. People cite the deaths like they were murders or something. Bottom line is the deaths were all health related or accidental. It's a misrepresentation of the facts.

What part?
Trump's address was at noon. By 12:53 people were starting to march to the Capitol and people were gathering. 2:13 some people break the windows and enter the building. Trump Tweets shortly after and again an hour later to remain peaceful, and then an hour later asking everyone to just go home. He asks again at 6pm for everyone to go home after Babbitt's death is confirmed. Shortly after the NG comes in and everyone leaves without a fight. Congress reconvenes by 8pm to finalize the vote. The whole thing was over in a matter of hours.

Right because a crowd of insurrectionists after being whipped into a frenzy and assaulting the Capitol are checking on The Twitter account guy who whipped them up to tell them to stay calm lol. I’m sorry but this is a revisionist whitewashing thinking Trump was really trying to calm people down by tweeting while people were in the Capital attacking LEOs.

two tweets over the course of the whole event and only when pressured to do so ok. Smh

I’m sorry. I know there are always multiple sides to huge historical events and we don’t always know what we are seeing in real time but there are many things about this that scream that it was an assault on our DEMOCRATIC PROCESS. This wasn’t a group of people misbehaving or boys being boys. It was the culmination of the big lie and a last gasp to stop Biden from being president. There isn’t anything else anyone can say to me to change my mind on that. I saw it. I watched it and that isn’t in dispute.

Revisionist whitewashing? I'm not making anything up, it's in the timelines reported by USA Today, BBC, and a variety of other sources. For what it's worth he asked them to remain peaceful at the rally too, but whatever. Again, the big bad "insurrection" was over as soon as the Guard came in and asked them to leave. Protesters weren't trading shots, refusing to give up ground. There was no real threat of a take over, no organized plan or follow through by the masses.

People not getting their way and resorting to breaking things and violence has become normalized.

From Merriam-Webster dictionary website
Insurrection: n·sur·rec·tion | \ ˌin(t)-sə-ˈrek-shən \Definition of insurrection

: an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government

I know people on the left have been trained to say "its not the same" but pre-election the left mob took over police stations and even whole city blocks. They burned police stations and vandalized other goverment buildings and cried foul when members on the right wanted to send national guardsmen to protect federal buildings in those locations. That is an insurrection and people died, people lost businesses and some died protecting businesses.

Sure its not the same. Not all riots, looting, and insurrections are all made equally. Raiding a police station and setting it on fire is a REVOLT against civil authority. Vandalizing and tearing down statues on federal property can be seen as a REVOLT against an established government. Occupying city blocks and creating an autonomous zone is a REVOLT against civil authority and established local and federal government. By defintion an autonomous zone is
a community that is autonomous from the generally recognized state or authority structure in which it is embedded.
by definition they essentially created their own "state" and would not allow police or really any medical personel into their zones. They basically held these zones hostage with their demands... demands to local and federal governments. In these "zones" it was an insurrection and people died.

You have been trained to say its the same by the same people calling all the mess created by the left as "peaceful". A perfect example of how divided and insane this country is the double standard. We see a bunch nuts and idiots on the right essentially enter a very under guarded capitol building and the very same people encouraging all the rioting looting all over the country are now playing victims. I am not sad for them at all. AOC hiding in her bathroom with her life flashing before her eys as she sits in a completely different building. Silent when people like me that own retaill were doing the same. People getting dragged in the middle of the street protecting their business from a mob and essentially beat to death. What do you call violence in the name of anger and agression toward a government to change their policies? That is called terrorism, and its essentially been ignored or condoned or quietly repudiated or condemned. When you burn or even loot a building to get government to change how is that not terrorism or insurrection? You are commiting acts of violence and destruction in the name of defuding police or whatever POLITICAL policy you want changed. And while these cities burn lets take this time to ask Trump to condemn white supremacy.... ooooookay.

ITS NORMALIZED BEHAVIOR and it was not made normal on Jan 6. I would much rather people outraged go after their failed elected officials than other American citizens, police, or private business that have littlle or nothing to do with their outrage. I am not being hyperbolic....

I think both sides downplay or don't acknowledge wrong doings by the left and right. You don't hear the left speaking against the riots and violence against small businesses and individuals. And the right downplays the capital protest/riot. And of course both sides won't even admit that this either.

If that was your only beef with the whole post I think I am good with that.

We've already hashed out everything else in your post ad nauseum. I only highlighted that section because the whole gensis of most the anger on the Left is police brutality.

Do you genuinely think it’s anger? I honestly think it’s an opportunity veiled in anger to get things like farmer reparations and other things to come.

I am angry as a man that men are disproportionately arrested and victims of police brutality than women. Systemic police sexism. If this could only generate votes for either side this would be a thing too.

So you truly believe that BLM is essentially a grift or front for people to get a buck out of it? This despite the evidence of unfair treatment of minorities.

If you think men are treated poorly by police, you should look up the stats on domestic abuse in law enforcement.

To your first question, yes. If we are just looking at stats without context police are far far more sexist than racist. It might sound like a stale argument but if Breonna Taylor or Jacob Blake were white we would maybe hear about it for 15 seconds. But in reality there are white Breonna Taylors and Jacob Blakes that get their 15 seconds but no political spotlight. Imagine if Daniel Shaver from Mesa, Arizona was a black man. A little different circumstances but if someone argued his killing was more egregious than George Floyds how could argue without saying "well Floyd was black"?

To your second point, why isn't there a police wives matter group? Politics, nobody gives a shit about police wives because it wont generate votes and it wont generate much traction for anyones agenda. Just like nobody cares about the disproportionate amount of men encarcerated over women. For the record I am not screaming the CJ sysytem is sexist. Just giving an example of why stats themselves are not sexist or racist and just because there is some sort of racial desparity does not mean its racist. Are there racist cops, yes. Is the system racist, no. Is the system sexist, it is more than it is racist but still no.

Domstic abuse is very high. So is alcoholism, divorce rate is sky hight, and generally overall burnout rate is high. Its a thankless job, why anyone would pick a career in law enforcement (especillay today) is beyond me.

Part of having a function brain, is that you and I can look at the Daniel Shaver incident and realize that it is pretty horrific. This is not a zero sum game. Holding people accountable does not all of a sudden mean someone gets off for something else. Don't you worry, us white people will be just fine I can promise you that.

If hearing about a black person being killed your first instinct is to feel defensive - that's a deeper issue than "stats".

Are you asking if there are support groups for victims of domestic abuse? Because I can 100% promise you there is.

Yeah those uppity black folk and their "agenda", I guess their agenda is "please don't kill me".
