Not sure, but Whiskey posted the text of his speech above if you can stomach exposing yourself to it again.

For my part, I've long ago given up on him being restrained by the concepts of liberty or the Constitution or any of the other foundational principles on which this country was built and have allowed it to thrive in the world. His world view is shaped by his ruthless dealings in real estate, and his ego has allowed him to believe that success as a developer is a logical bridge to success as the leader of the free world -- not understanding of how the wider world works, or how the nation works. All that is important is his idiotic notion that his superficial "understanding" is adequate. Worse, his horrifying, ham fisted solutions to complex challenges would upend the fabric of our society and make the world a more dangerous place.

That speech offered a frightening vision for America. I'll leave room that my disdain for Donald Trump may have caused me to fill in the blanks that his vagueries left unresolved, but I believe I heard him hint at martial law in our biggest and most ethnically diverse cities in the name of his oft repeated refrain that "there will be law and order." His stalwart support for law enforcement and absence of acknowledgement that their transgressions (however few or glaring anybody wants to argue they are) have contributed to the mistrust that people have for police. Donald Trump is a dangerous man -- a bull in a china shop who will charge toward his simplistic solutions to complex problems with no regard for what he would destroy on the way.

I have had several co-workers who have traveled overseas over the past several weeks who have returned with stories of their conversations with citizens of Europe and Asia who are frightened by his proposals for America's relationship to the world, but even more by the number of people in the U.S. who seem eager to follow him into the abyss. I am encouraged that you wish to untether yourself from a party that is screaming at 1000 mph toward its own destruction. I have always thought you were too intelligent a guy to book a ticket on that train.

Ha. That's rich. His views, no matter how different they may be from yours or mine, is exactly what is transpiring in Europe. Let's take a look:

A Neo-Nazi party named ‘Our Slovakia’ has gained 14 parliamentary seats in Slovakia’s elections, taking its place at the National Council for the first time.
However, the most notable addition to the new parliament is Marian Kotleba’s far right People’s Party, Our Slovakia, which is anti-EU and considers NATO a terrorist organization.

Data from a Radio Expres exit poll suggests a large portion of the party’s vote came from young people, mainly first-time voters, with almost a quarter of the that demographic casting their ballot for Kotleba’s party.

The Smer Party has made it clear that they would not negotiate with Kotleba in coalition talks.

Remarking on Kotleba's success in the elections, Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak said that "the perception of Slovakia in Europe will be complicated”. “We have elected a fascist to Parliament," Lajcak is quoted by AP.

To be clear and unequivocal, I can say that Islamisation is constitutionally banned in Hungary.
It is reasonable to expect illegal migrants to be sent back without delay to safe transit countries or to their countries of origin if the latter are safe.

Islamophobia has risen markedly in Germany, a study published on Wednesday showed, underscoring the tensions simmering in German society after more than one million migrants, mostly Muslims, arrived last year.

Every second respondent in the study of 2,420 people said they sometimes felt like a foreigner in their own country due to the many Muslims here, up from 43 percent in 2014 and 30.2 percent in 2009.

The number of people who believe Muslims should be forbidden from coming to Germany has also risen, the study showed, and now stands at just above 40 percent, up from about a fifth in 2009.

Hate crimes against Muslims in France have tripled since the terrorist attacks against Charlie Hebdo magazine and a kosher supermarket in January, according to official figures.
Anti-semitic offences also doubled in the first five months of 2015.
More than 400 incidents of an "Islamophobic" nature, including assaults, harassment and criminal damage, were reported to the authorities in 2015, up from 133 in the previous year.
From January to May, 508 antisemitic crimes were recorded, a rise of 84 per cent compared to the same months in 2014. Figures for the full year are still being compiled.
Gilbert Clavreul, the head of Dilcra, a body that coordinates government action against racism and anti-semitism, said: “This is a spectacular and very worrying development, which is explained mainly by the surge in (anti-Muslim) acts following the January attacks.”

Britain 'got the first shot in' by voting to leave the EU, French far-right leader Marine Le Pen has said amid calls for 34 separate EU referendums across Europe.
The French National Front leader said politicians in her country are 'afraid of the people' and vowed to call for a similar vote on EU membership if elected as president next year.
It comes after a study suggested Brexit could trigger a tidal wave of up to 34 referendums across Europe on matters ranging from membership to keeping the euro and stopping the influx of refugees.

...

She added: 'I congratulate the leaders of "leave" because they have managed to make themselves heard.
'European leaders were telling us that it’s impossible to leave the EU. Well Brexit has show us that it is possible to do it.'
'If I win the presidential election, there will be a referendum. The question should be asked in every EU country.
'The majority of politicians in France oppose a referendum. They are afraid of the people.'
Meanwhile, the ECFR report said the fear of Turkey joining the EU and the rise of Islamophobia were among the reasons why support for anti-immigrant and anti-EU parties was on the rise across the continent.

It was even funnier when Hillary tweeted something about "having a bridge to sell you" regarding his credibility in regards to scandal.

As a vp, he would have fit in nicely with the other scandalous bastards running.

I actually used to like him, but the last couple years showed his true colors. Just another crooked politician.

That's redundant.

You talking about Obama?

I think we've found an actual Trump supporter in RDU Irish. He sounds like someone that actually believes the vitriol that Trump spews. There aren't many of you around. Most Trump supporters are in that position because they hate Hillary, not because they want to follow Trump over the cliff. The lesser of two evils logic.

I can sympathize because I have found myself in the same position on the opposite side. Hillary is the lesser of two evils, and come November I will hold my nose and vote for her.

I think it's interesting that liberals can't stop complaining about our police force, minimum wage, tax breaks for the wealthy, LGBT rights, gun control, education, the environment, etc., but when the Republican candidate for President gets up there and says the country is in bad shape, and he is going to fix it, the criticism from those same people is that he is just trying to scare everyone into voting for him.

In other words, day in and day out I hear about how terrible our country is and then when they guy gets up there and says our country is terrible people lose their freaking minds.

I will not be voting for Trump but I am also starting to get fed up with the hypocrisy of the left.

Ivanka is the real deal.

Given recent developments in French politics, she could be a powerhouse candidate in the future. Trump as Jean-Marine Le Pen with Ivanka as Marine is looking more and more plausible.

Samesies... although having someone who promotes cop killing get up and speak at the convention might honestly be enough for me to change my mind and cast a "fuck you" vote against Clinton. That's so beyond inexcusable.

the things trump wants to "fix" and the thing the left want fixed are very different.

Some quotes from his speech last night:

Americans watching this address tonight have seen the recent images of violence in our streets and the chaos in our communities. Many have witnessed this violence personally. Some have even been its victims. I have a message for all of you: The crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon — and I mean very soon come to an end. Beginning on January 20th 2017, safety will be restored.
Nearly four in 10 African-American children are living in poverty, while 58% of African-American youth are now not employed. 2 million more Latinos are in poverty today than when the president took his oath of office eight years ago.

Household incomes are down more than $4,000 since the year 2000. That is 16 years ago.

Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it. I have seen firsthand how the system is rigged against our citizens, just like it was rigged against Bernie Sanders. He never had a chance.

This administration has failed America's inner cities. Remember, it has failed America's inner cities. It's failed them on education. It's failed them on jobs. It's failed them on crime. It's failed them in every way and on every single level.

When I am president, I will work to ensure that all of our kids are treated equally, and protected equally. Every action I take, I will ask myself: Does this make life better for young Americans in Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, and Ferguson who have really come in every way, have the same right to live out their dreams as any other child in America?

No good. And we're going to stop it. As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology. Believe me. And I have to say as a Republican, it is so nice to hear you cheering for what I just said. Thank you.

We are going to work with all of our students who are drowning in debt to take the pressure off these young people just starting out in their adult lives. Tremendous problems.

Are these not problems the left wants to fix?

Nope they either can't do what is necessary due to alliances with special interest, or they want to keep blaming republicans and running on them....

It seems the likability of Ivanka is a real asset to the Donald. She seems to be really universally liked and admired.

But then Dad goes and starts this nonsense again:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Trump revives rumor linking Cruz's father to JFK assassination <a href="https://t.co/cvzUmryB8k">https://t.co/cvzUmryB8k</a> | Getty <a href="https://t.co/xGrmydQYKL">pic.twitter.com/xGrmydQYKL</a></p>— POLITICO (@politico) <a href="https://twitter.com/politico/status/756511931691835394">July 22, 2016</a></blockquote>

This was my favorite response:

Comparing Wiz changing his voter registration to a drunk husband abusing his wife? Classy. Not sure what happened to you this year, but you've gone way off the rails.

I'm getting so sick of your stupid psychoanalysis of me and my posts. If you think I'm deranged, why the hell do you insist on commenting on my posts? Just fuck off already.

Put your hate and vitriol away for a minute and look at the points made in his speech last night. That is some good shit. Tons of which is completely counter to the Republican standard. He opened doors for all Americans there - the only groups I can see that might have legitimate fear are illegal immigrants, aspiring illegal immigrants, violent criminals and foreign countries who are not pulling their own weight (i.e. most). I have not seen a platform that I agreed with more - ever. Far from perfect but a hell of a lot closer than the normal empty promises, nation building and bible thumping bull shit the Rs normally put out.

Music after his speech - "You don't always get what you want - but if you try real hard - you get what you need" - hilariously poignant.

Trump can count on my vote also, but living in NJ it is probably meaningless. But you never know. The Dems and Rino's have screwed this state up so much eventually the populous will see the light.

What about people who value economic growth? How about people who believe in the rule of law and that our leaders should follow the Constitution they're sworn to uphold? How about people with more than a sixth grade understanding of what protectionist trade policy would do to our economy?

Unfortunately, I don't believe any of it. One 75-minute speech read from a tele-prompter can't undo making fun of the handicapped, calling women who oppose him ugly or fat, claiming a judge can't rule in a lawsuit against him because of the judge's Mexican heritage (Judge was born in Indiana, by the way and is a US citizen), calling Mexican immigrants rapists and criminals, ridiculing a Vietnam War P.O.W., calling his political opponents "Lyin' Ted", "Little Marco", "Crooked Hillary", etc. He's said far too many racist and mean things for me to ever support him. One "performance" in front of a TV audience can't undo all the damage that he's already done to his public image. If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, and acts like a duck, it's a duck. One night of masquerading as something else can't change that.

I can't disagree with you on the above points. But really I get tired hearing about the "rule of law". The current administration makes this up as they go along and so does the Supreme Court. Does Congress do anything? No. If HRC gets elected you can count on the same. Now if Trump wins do you really think that the Congress (no matter which party in in control) will not impeach him? Of course they will. That is actually the only check we have. No way in hell the Congress will impeach HRC no matter what she does.

1) Growth - you cannot seriously claim that Trump's growth plan is not vastly superior to Hillary's.

2) Constitution? Are you f-ing kidding me? The Hillary gets your benefit of the doubt as a serial corrupter and liar but you assume Trump will somehow be worse? Obama wipes his ass with the Constitution and you assume Trump will be worse? WTF

3) You have a point - however the President does not unilaterally write and execute trade policies. Ergo - your hysterics are misplaced and grossly exaggerated. We can look to his history as well to see that you start with extreme claims in negotiations in order to move the middle toward you. He has also said he will solicit our best business minds to work these deals. I guess you would rather put that in the hands of John Kerry.

Hope you're not a Hillary supporter because using your logic above-

Hillary is a compulsive liar. She has lied over and over again about serious stuff and even petty stuff. She's even lied about lying even when shown clips of her lying (I don't think I need to post the videos). With the logic you presented above I assume you believe that Hillary will lie to us over and over again as president and when asked will lie about lying. She will lie to us about small stuff and even stuff that might put us in danger. How is that better than Trump?

Please if you truely have a distaste for one of these candidates.....

Gary Johnson > lesser of 2 evils.

That's not what you said. You said "the only groups I can see that might have legitimate fear are illegal immigrants, aspiring illegal immigrants, violent criminals and foreign countries who are not pulling their own weight." If your argument is "Trump sucks but Hillary sucks worse and they're the two candidates so sack up and vote Trump," you might be able to convince me. But Hillary's awfulness doesn't alleviate the fears I have about Trump.

3) You have a point - however the President does not unilaterally write and execute trade policies. Ergo - your hysterics are misplaced and grossly exaggerated. Actually, I'm considering Gary Johnson. If he is competitive at all in November, I will give him serious consideration along with any other 3rd party candidate that has a real chance to win. But if it looks like my choice is Hillary or The Donald, I'll opt for the crooked politician over the racist bully every time. We have survived crooked politicians on numerous occasions. The Congress is full of them.
