Well, at Least Game of Thrones Season Six Is Coming to DVD and Blu-ray Sooner Than Expected

The extra content is especially juicy this time around. Along with the usual array of behind-the-scenes featurettes, there will be four deleted scenes and at least one audio commentary for every episode (some get two with cast and crew, including standout eps “The Door” and “Battle of the Bastards”). Most interestingly, the Blu-ray set will contain an 18-part “Histories and Lore” series delving into the myths of Westeros and Essos that sounds awesome: Euron Greyjoy explains the Kingsmoot, Thoros of Myr talks about the Brotherhood Without Banners, Brother Ray (Ian McShane’s character) discusses the War of the Ninepenny Kings, Young Ned Stark shares the history of House Dayne, and so much more.

Hype.

SPOILERS FOR SEASON 7.

AND BY SPOILERS, I MEAN WHAT IS POTENTIALLY THE ENTIRE PLOT OF THE WHOLE SEASON.

ALSO, I APOLOGIZE FOR LINKING THE FOLLOWING SITE, BUT THE FINAL PARAGRAPH ITSELF IS DESERVING OF THE CLICK.

ONE LAST THING, I'M TYPING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF AND READ THE SPOILERS, AND IF THEY ARE TRUE, I THINK IT'S OFF THE CHAIN. MANY OF YOU WILL PROBABLY BE DISAPPOINTED AND DISAGREE, BECAUSE THIS SHOW NEVER SATISFIES YOU.

The Entire Plot Of The Next Season Of Game Of Thrones Seems To Have Leaked

Hold up. Is the last paragraph a spoiler or something else? I really don't want to do this to myself....

The entire article is a spoiler. Do not open if you want the surprise. And normally I would ignore all spoilers, rather than ruin things for myself, but the status of the books has me to the point where I'm like "meh, the show entertains me, but I don't need to be amazed by every revelation." (of course, I was then amazed by the spoilers I read, but I'm easily satisfied by sci-fi/fantasy, so I'm a hypocrite I guess)

Here is the final paragraph, in which a key hypothetical had me laughing out loud (spoilers removed):

Not every piece of information has been confirmed, but enough of the tentpole moments seem to be coming true that awayforthelads’s information can, improbably, be trusted. HBO is probably mortified, just like they were when a bunch of full episodes leaked a few years ago, but it’s not as if the revelation that [SPOILERS REDACTED] will turn viewers off. If you’re this deep in a blog post replete with spoilers, you’re probably into the show enough that you’d watch it even if a Reddit user confirmed that the next season would be a meditative one-act play where Hodor’s ghost chats with Benjen Stark; if the whole thing sounds lousy, you (and HBO brass) can take comfort in the fact that so much of Game Of Thrones takes place between the action-adventure set pieces that the show will doubtless still manage to surprise you.

Haha that is funny.

This is going to be so difficult not to click that link. I try to be spoiler free but you are making me itch. On a scale of 1-10 how crazy are we talking?

Some of it is actually kind of cheesy, but it's fan-servicey enough that I got pretty hype and ignored the cheese factor, and I'm actually pretty satisfied with how they will potentially reconcile the various geographically-challenged plotlines.

I don't think that's a spoiler, because we all know that this needs to come together somehow, and I think we even had a decent discussion about how the differing plot points in the North and South would intercept eachother, and that information is included in the spoilers.

EDIT: to answer your question, I'd rate it at a "7," pending execution and making the larger plot points run together nicely, rather than just being a mish-mash of fan service that is tied together by poor writing. Potential to be a "4" based on cheesiness and the potential for poor writing; potential to be a "10" because it's GoT.

There was a similarly comprehensive "leak" prior to S6 that turned out to be mostly false, so some skepticism is in order. That said, this particular leak came out a month ago, and since then, many of these spoilers have seemingly been confirmed by production-oriented leaks (Harrington and Clarke filming together, Harrington clearly interacting with a CGI dragon prop, etc.)

So I'm inclined to believe this one.

If the leaks are legit, what are your thoughts on the general plot?

I like the premise, and there is potential for it to all tie together very neatly... but there is also potential for it to be a disorganized, episodic cluster that is ultimately unsatisfying.

The only thing I would be somewhat disappointed with is its "just so" description of Littlefinger's downfall. Otherwise sounds awesome. I'm much more interested in what these leaks imply for the plot of GRRM's books, though.

I have a feeling I know what you are talking about with fan-servicing. I really hate Daenarys so I hope that doesn't actually come true.

Eh, there is an aspect of fan-service that involves Dany, but I was actually considering a few other points wayyyy before that one.

The spoilers, if true, also make it clear what will be left for season 8, which was another thing I kind of liked considering what it meant for the rest of the plot.

Skimmed the article quickly. Most of it (in terms of the folks lining up) is what I think most of us already expected.

Lol.

That is seriously disappointing. His 2017 appearance schedule will remain limited "until WINDS is completed"? Makes it sound like he has no idea when that will be. I was hoping he was getting close.

Of course, it's possible that he is closer to being done than he wants to let on, but that post certainly doesn't give us any reason for optimism.

Sorry if I mislead anyone by bumping but...my family dragged me to the ceramic store and I had no idea what to do, so this popped into my head. I painted these freehand on a blank mug. Thuoght they turned out pretty cool...

Every time this thread gets bumped, I feel like I got blue balls.

Mugs look sweet, though.

Man, for all the shit I get about being a nerd, one thing I definitely don't have is a handmade Faceless Men mug.

New season of the show is set for 7/16/17.

MORE than a year, and the book that was supposed to come before the last season still isn't out.

However.

I read some light puff piece about the guy who plays Bran and how he likes to read fan theories, and then likes to go back and check to see which are right whenever he gets a new script or shoots an episode.

It got me thinking about things that the last season of the show revealed, and what it means about future books stuff. There's so much in store, that I've forgotten most of it.

1. Bran CAN change the past via his warging. Perhaps he WILL be the one to tell Jon Snow about his true heritage

2. Cleganebowl. Get hype.

3. Dany is FINALLY coming to Westeros. Will she actually make it, or will her entire season 7 arc consist of sea battles against Euron as she tries to reach her destination?

4. Will the Wall fall, since Bran is now the "Breaker of Magical Barriers"?

5. What will be Jaime's fate? Will he continue his flawed redemption, and be the unlikely hero that nobody remembers or credits? Seems heart-breaking enough for GRRM to consider.

Add to the list, and we can get unreasonably hype together.

I also just realized that the start date means the show will interfere with Sunday Night Football for a few weeks. That's a bummer.

There has been a lot of speculation that Gendry is back. I am curious to see where his story goes.
