I'm assuming the comment in context is 'we stopped recruiting you cause we know you're a sooner at heard'.

Notre Dame flat out told him that they think he ends up at Oklahoma and he responded with comments making it seem like Notre Dame was the team to beat.

Coach D does some not-so-subtle recruiting for ND on Twitter at times, and he did it with Phillips today by echoing your exact thoughts.

He made sure to tweet "about" Phillips for his followers, but it was acasually just a straight up message TO Phillips that said, "Hey, you can do anything in this defense and do it well. Think about it."

About time we had our own Hopkins lol.

CB from Loy. Said originally, family wasn't on board with ND, thought the academics might be too tough. But they're coming around now. Phillips is truly torn between OU/ND, but Loy thinks that having his parents see the presentation for the MSU game will be something that puts them ahead and wins the parents over completely.

I think that's true. BUT I think they'd take his commitment if he called up. No?

Just wondering if anyone had a feeling on who was higher on the board even if it was in the past? I don't have an opnion on the matter. I didn't follow either player because I didn't think ND was really in the running for either. Phillip's interest is surprising to me... in a good way.

Definitely Phillips. Word from II was that the staff wasn't all that impressed with Foster. I have to say that from clips I saw, I was kind of meh, as well. At this point, I'm pretty sure we're not even recruiting Foster anymore.

Foster had some grade/test issues as well, although Loy said he expected it to not matter in the end and they'd get taken care of, but still. When in doubt take the guy without academic hurdles if all else equal.
