Looking at twitter it seems a lot of the BLM members think the shooting is fake and is being used to create a race war

Just proves how delusional some of them are. Spend their time preaching hate towards white people and police and calling for a race war... then when someone acts on what they're preaching, it's panic time.

That's why people shouldn't be surprised. We've had the leader of the free world, the highest office in all the land, calling police the bad guys, then everyone is shocked when violent individuals treat police like the bad guys they've been told they are.

I find it strange that they feel like this guy acted alone. In the vids, it seems like there are multiple shooters by the gunshots. They didn't seem to be police returning shots, but rather two shooters. They were even looking for multiple shooters at first.

Par for the course on any issue really... some of the stuff I've seen in comments on facebook makes you wonder how these people exist day to day... but again, it's not like this is new or exclusive to this situation.

What happened to the talk about a light-skinned African American female suspect?

I thought they said they had multiple shooters in custody?

Sometimes I am absolutely amazed that I grew up in basically the same environment as my childhood friends that are on Facebook. I really do wonder how they make it in life.

guy that did this is an idiot. Not only does he murder 5 people in cold blood, which is unimaginable to me, he takes attention away from a very real and serious issue, police abuse and brutality in this country.

this idiot thought he was going to do something to help and he only made things worse and worst of all he murdered 5 people.

why are people so freaking stupid and crazy? jesus.

I don't know, but they just said on cnn that the shooter acted alone. That came directly from the Dallas PD.
Interesting.

I do know they said when he was initially negotiating with the police that he told them he acted alone.

I kid you not, go on any leftist site (Salon, Gawker, wherever) and most people outright support him murdering the cops.

IMO, the reason this happens is that the internet is facilitating the indoctrination of people that such actions are "reasonable" or "just."

well anybody who supports murder is just an idiot not to be taken seriously. I look at them the same way as I look at people who say "oh so and so had it coming to him, the police did nothing wrong".

I think the reason why shit like this winds up happening is because police pretty much rarely ever have to face the consequences of their actions. They can do almost anything they want with total impunity. Go look up the stats. Indictments on police officers are so rare and convictions are even more rare. They are almost non-existent. It's ridiculous. There is NO WAY police officers are in the right and justifiable 99+% of the time. That is just not humanly possible. But that's what the stats will say bc they never get convicted. It's horseshit. Anybody with a brain can tell that it's horseshit. The system is rigged to protect them.

There needs to be real sweeping change there or more senseless, stupid shit is just going to keep happening over and over and over again. I'd love to see Internal Affairs investigators and Prosecutors with real teeth go after the bad cops. But they can't do that until the lawmakers stop giving police so much leeway to do pretty much whatever they want. They need to change the laws. Significantly. Not all cops are complete idiot, assholes, most are actually good guys, but there are a lot of uneducated, loser, bad apples in the lot that spoil it for the whole bunch and give them a bad rep with the public.

To be fair you have gems like this one coming from the other direction.

Link won't work so:

"That's right black people... continue to feed your stereotype by acting like depraved apes and shooting people. I weep for humanity."

I'm gonna get "this doesn't represent such and such" remember 43% of registered republicans thought Obama was Muslim so.....

Thinking Obama is Muslim isn't racist, it's just incorrect.

I think that a lot of people who think he's a Muslim probably are racist. If he was an old white male like George W. Bush, I doubt they'd think he was a Muslim. It's certainly tinged in racism, I think. At the very least.

Too many people get caught up in religion anyway. Even if he was a Muslim, so what? The best man for the job is suppose to hold it, nowhere does it say you need to be a part of a certain religion to be able to hold the office of President.

When Kennedy became President in 1960 he was the first Catholic to ever hold the office. The first President was elected 171 years before then. It took almost 200 years to have a Catholic in that office.

George W Bush: not a common or practical name for a muslim
Barak Hussein Obama: yeah one can make a decent assumption that he'd be muslim

If you know his story and read his own words his parents were practicing Muslims for a time, including at the time of his birth and early childhood if memory serves. He also has written on his admiration of Islam and the Quran... and there's the whole name thing...

so yeah. But I'm sure it's all racism..... as. it. always. is.

Apples and oranges.... The IRA(nor any other Catholic group) had not declared war on the United States in the years running up to the 1960 election.

That newspaper is a disgrace. After today's cover I will never click anything they put out. It has gotten progressively worse over the last couple of years. I know that probably isn't relevant, but had to share.

They employ racist, fake-black-to-get-ahead Shaun King. They're as abhorrent as any publication in existence.

Ballwin officer 'fighting for his life' after shooting; suspect charged | Law and order | stltoday.com

A total of four more cops were shot today, all by black people. Speaking of the above link condoning cop killing, some were (allegedly) strongly supportive of BLM. You can find posts by BLM people all over social media supporting these murders. If your movement is full of racist and hateful people, how are you not a hate group?

Amazing, isn't it?

According to Heather MacDonald (article and bio here) a police officer has 18.5 TIMES the likely hood of being killed by an African American male than killing one (edit: unarmed black male).

You can read the other statistics. This doesn't excuse tragedies like Minnesota and New Orleans. It's a sad state of affairs. But as a middle class white man, I say this - Don't bring one-off shit when an entire race is drowning. For every one cop accused of killing an innocent black man, there are 1000 good guy cops. There is an entire class of sadness that is taking place that ISN'T because a few cops are guilty of horrendous crimes. Problem is, you can bring up the epidemic without being labeled a racist. When you have people like Beyonce saying shit like "Don't kill us!!!" that gets headlines. Problem is, it's bullshit.

Answer two questions. Is there a police problem?

Is there a black problem?

If you didn't answer yes to both these questions, then you can either educate yourself on the current state of affairs or don't interject into the discussion. Both need addressed, but only one is being reported.

PS - Based on statistics from 2007 -2012, 12 black men died from other African Americans during the day it took me to type this -- from the statistics here

I'll leave with this:

The favorite conceit of the Black
Lives Matter movement is, of course,
the racist white officer gunning down a
black man. According to available studies,
it is a canard. A March 2015 Justice
Department report on the Philadelphia
Police Department found that black
and Hispanic officers were much more
likely than white officers to shoot blacks
based on “threat misperception,” i.e., the
incorrect belief that a civilian is armed.
A study by University of Pennsylvania
criminologist Greg Ridgeway, formerly
acting director of the National Institute
of Justice, has found that black officers
in the NYPD were 3.3*times more likely
to fire their weapons at shooting scenes
than other officers present.

Go get'um whittey. Go get'um.

I find it rather hypocritical of the media that they'll use some dipshit kids from Gamergate to turn the movement on it's head and make it all about white misogynistic bullying, while the BLM movement is unphased after these cops were killed by it's supporters. It's almost like the media twists things however they please...go figure.
