So, were these guys ND-locks pending the offer, or is this just how quickly things move when you start a class with a stud QB?
My opinion: NJ Catholic Schools have always produced talent that inherently appeals to the education and religious aspect of ND. The best thing that happened to ND recruiting the state was Boston College regressing back to mediocre status, it's the only Catholic school with high quality football and high quality academics.
Though, with that said, the Big 4 schools have produced some nice pros recently and none of them went to Catholic universities.
SPP (Wimbush's HS): Will Hill (Florida)
Bergen Catholic: Brian Cushing (USC)
St. Joseph's Montvale: McCourty Twins on Titans and Pats (Rutgers)
Don Bosco: Leonte Carroo (Rutgers), Corey Wooten (Northwestern), Justin Trattou (Florida), many others that wikipedia tells me (I didn't know them off the top of my head and had to look it up)
NJ could be fertile for the density of athletes and the sheer number of highly educated parents who understand the inherent risks and limitations of playing football and maybe want to find a good educational fit for kids.
