She was just on ESPN radio and of course shamelessly plugged her blog before saying anything related to her son or the draft. She's calculated and obviously has had plans to use her sons ride to stardom as her own.

still cant believe we took this guy with the 10th pick...

If we were going CB Vernon Hargreaves should have been the pick.. But the Giants go "high character".. Reese sucks and Eli is going to be on his back all season.

thought worse case we would end up with Conklin and then Floyd next.
they weren't there because of Tunsil. That Tunsil drop hurt us real bad.
First draft EVER in our history that the GMen didn't take an offensive or defensive lineman.
Reese and his scouts ALL need to go.

The giants are going to regret this pick just because of his loud mouth mother.

I can only image if he gets benched or doesn't start from day one she'll go bat sh*t crazy about how the Giants are all idiots and the like. Or if her son gets yelled at she'll say the coaches are terrible to treat someone like that.

It's sickening. The shameless self promotion is IMO worse than those stage parents that burned through piles of their kids cash before they became adults. At least they sat back and let their kids enjoy the spotlight.

And now she will join ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown as a contributor this fall. She reminds me of Brent Grimes wife lol

"Giants cornerback Eli Apple won’t be the only rookie in his family this season.

Apple’s mother Annie has become a popular follow on Twitter since the first round of the draft because of her commentary on topics like refusing to let her son wear a Rolex to the draft, women who might want to chase Eli because he’s an NFL player and her complaints about the lack of dessert in the draft green room in Chicago. That last one got Mrs. Apple a batch of brownies from the NFL and she’ll have another platform to share her thoughts this fall.

ESPN announced on Monday that Annie Apple will be a contributor to Sunday NFL Countdown this season. Per the network’s release, she will do player profiles and other stories.

“Annie caught our attention during the NFL Draft and when we met with her in-person at ESPN we were blown away by her relatability, her sense of humor and just how unafraid she is to speak her mind,” ESPN senior coordinating producer Seth Markman said in a statement. “Annie brings a very unique perspective as the mother of a current NFL player and as a fan, and we look forward to exploring a variety of different story ideas with her on Sunday NFL Countdown

Apple says she looks forward to sharing a sports mom’s “perspectives, energy, contributions and fantastic awkwardness” during her appearances on the show. It’s certainly a departure from the kind of content we’re used to getting on the Sunday morning pregame shows and it’s one that could make Annie Apple a household name ahead of her son if it goes well"

I won't watch regardless. I'm one of the few that avoids the pregame shows.

It took this to get you to that point? I stopped watching anything but live sports on ESPN a long time ago.

MLB Network, NFL Network, NBC Sports, and NBA TV are where it's at.

Yeah, I guess I'm a rube. I still liked College GameDay... and I always give ESPN the benefit of the doubt for the fact that getting to see every single lacrosse game during the season while when I was playing not a single one was televised.

Ah, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!! And I really liked that show, too. Oh well, I'm sure it won't take long before she calls Peyton Manning or Tom Brady a "Cracker" on TV, and gets shown the door. But whatever idiot at ESPN thought this was a good idea? Yeah, that guy should be escorted out by security, after being encouraged to seek opportunity elsewhere.

Sunday and Monday Night Countdown were still great shows! I even liked Michael Irvin and Keyshawn Johnson on those shows. And Tom Jackson is gold!!

I do watch College Gameday. I should have mentioned that. I am also not totally opposed to some of their college basketball programming. But I basically never turn on ESPN unless it's Saturday morning in the fall or a live game.

Somehow I see this being a short partnership. Then again, this is ESPN. There's an equally good chance she becomes the next Skip Bayless.
