I hope he didn't eat that, I wouldn't eat anything that comes out of that river. I had a friend in high school who went swimming in it and he came out with a nasty rash...

You can get a nasty rash without leaving the campus.

ISD interviewed Hiestand today. They are saying that Bars to RT is going to happen barring injuries or if his recovery from his previous injuries is stalled. He's just now getting back to full speed.

This will leave McGovern and Bivin to compete at RG.

Read this earlier and I love that news. I expect McGovern to win that job and Bivin become the 3rd tackle.

So no Hoge at RG?

Harry loves him, but it appears that he's been competing most at Center, which Mustipher has locked down. There was talk of him still needing to add strength, but the staff is incredibly confident that he'll be a player in the future.

Could be one of the best ND lines ever.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it wouldn't be one of the better Bama lines ever, with a little effort!

(Bama is the only team I can think of that has had a consistently superior line to ND in the last five years.)

...but the ISD crew said the right side looked bad. Said Rochell was looking like an All American while going up against Barrs and Biven.

I have noticed ISD and scout singing different tunes on players, coaches, the program, etc. at various times. I defer to ISD personally. I think they are football guys who write as opposed to the other way around sometimes at scout.

I think Bars is going to be solid at RT. I really think Rochelle is just that good at this point. Bars is still recovering from an ankle injury and learning better footwork in pass protection.

Bars really seems to be the best option at RT. I think Kramer will come in and compete immediately at RG. Just my opinion but I don't see Bivin being the answer as a starter anywhere on the line.

I agree, very big kid but just doesn't seem to fit anywhere they put him. Tried him at OT and he wasn't athletic/coordinated enough. Put him at OG and he seems like a round peg in a square whole. Reminds me a lot of Tate Nichols, looks like he should be much better than he truly is.

I love the host on ISD. Doesn't sugar coat anything. He didn't like Martin at center or Joe last year, very critical of Redfield, and the OL on the right this year.

I really hate sunshine pumping through the media because I don't listen to a lot, so I'm forced to put weight in what I hear. I'd very much recommend ISD and BGI for that, because Driskel also keeps it real but ISD is my favorite listen.

I don't see where those are related, let alone mutually exclusive.

I would expect the right side to look bad at this point. Hell, look at the left side! Not only are the left tackle through the center, killer-dillers, but that is where all of the game experience is. Finally, remember Alex is just coming off a broken ankle. For example, Malik, who broke his four weeks earlier is still looking a little rusty, and I don't think Joe Schmidt was ever the same after his!

I am hearing significant talk that Rochell may just be an All-American! And that to this point it doesn't matter who they put up against him. His quickness is great; but his strength is above and beyond, maybe near the top of the elite range.

Here's a Kelly quote from December of 2014: "The freshman Alex Bars, he’s one of the best I’ve seen in 25 years. He’s that good. Those guys ought to be nervous about whose job he’s going to take. He’s that good of a player. If there’s one offensive player I can point to, Alex Bars clearly the guy that stands out on offense."

So I agree with you. Bars probably isn't 100% and Bivin probably just isn't that good. TBD I guess

He exceeded my expectations last night. And that is saying a lot because I am higher on him than most, I think he moves to LT next year and becomes a mid to late first round pick in 2018

Yes, he is going to be a very good player. Then again we have a very, very, very, very good OLIne coach who is a good recruiter. He develops his players. 2 issues I have with Van Gorder.

But, when a coach is good at his job and recruits well good things happen.

Yes, our Oline coach is that good. I just couldn't say 1 very, or even 2. :)

Only if we could have a DC that is half as good, or even 1/4 as good.

Sounds like St. Harry is going to go with an Iron Seven if Bars is also the backup at Center. This means, however, that someone (Kraemer/Eichenberg/Bivin) is cross-training at guard (unless folks like Byrne or Ruhland have suddenly gotten a lot better.)

I say the above because I don't believe that it is in Harry's nature to blow the freshman OLine eligibility unless desperate. (even as good as those three frosh seem to be.)

A little love for Mr. Bars. He served that one with extra syrup.
