That is strange. I always thought he was one of the surest tacklers on the team.

Well that doesn't say much considering the overall tackling ability of our team.

That being said I thought he was a pretty good tackler.

He is a good tackler, but he also was out of position a lot and missed chances for tackles. You could also make the argument he went for the kill shot and didnt make the tackle a few too many times. I don't have a problem with his want to get a kill shot in, but he definitely took himself out of a lot of plays this year with poor angles and slow reaction.

Just ran an unofficial 4.59 40 on his first attempt. Also, repped 18 times on the bench. Both of those appead to be pretty solid numbers in comparison to other safeties at the combine.

He's definitely helping his stock so far - but it's the agility drills and DB specific drills that will help him most.

I agree, and I see a very high floor here as a later round pick. Therefore, making it a no brainer for me that he gets drafted. Like you stated, will probably make solid contributions on ST's at worst.

Do you mean a high floor, low ceiling? Because if he has a low floor wouldn't he be undraftable?

Those are real solid numbers for safety spot.

Don't forget he could play a little Nickle

Good role player and an asset to a team. The elite teams make a living off drafting guys like that in the late rounds.

Didn't Blanton run like a 4.71 40 during either his pro day or the combine and he was drafted in the 6th round by the Vikings. Not sure anyone has stated otherwise but I think Shu will get drafted.

I think that whoever started this thread 5 years ago should be applauded.

Yeah? I am waiting for him to master shrinking down the size of his videos in his posting.

(Italics strategically used to show I am only half kidding.)

Saw he was waived by Tampa in the preseason. Is he playing anywhere this season? Always liked Shumate. Guy hit like a truck.

I think Les would be a slight improvement as a HC over Kelly. Marginal, slight improvement...

I think a step back in coaching, but he would put his back (and chest) into crootin.
