There is very little chance he is going to end up at ND in my opinion. If he wanted to go there he would sign tomorrow.

When did you decide you were going to college? I would like him to make a signing day decision but if you are a high profile athlete and have the ability to choose and take your time... why not

I honestly can't remember I am too old. Kid has every right to take as long as he wants but he has probably been in this process for two years. Why wait to the last minute for visits? He has seen and heard all he can about ND. If he really wanted to go there he would sign tomorrow in my opinion. Don't begrudge him wherever he goes. It's his life.

this gets more and more confusing by the hour.

At some point you have to wonder if he will ever be happy at ND if Stanford is where he truly wants to be.

Don't think this is about Georgia at all. Think this is all about if he can get into Stanford.

So everyone keeps comparing him to Davonte simply because they both went past signing day? Or was Davonte also waiting on test scores to see if he could get into one of the best academic institutions in the world? He was not.

I love how we call a kid like Demetris a drama queen because he doesn't want to sign on NSD. We're the ones who facilitate it. If we didn't hang on these kids every word, no one would care. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't make a life changing decision if I knew I could soon gain new information that could change my decision all together. Granted, I don't think Stanford will be an option but I don't fault him for trying. Also, doubt he ever visits UGA.

Stanford is going to get him to visit and will present him with a LOI to sign when there, which he will. Book it. Not sure if this should be italics or not.

According to ISD, he's expected to go past NSD, but there is some doubts that he will even take the UGA visit. Sounds a lot like he's waiting for the test scores back to determine if he visits Stanford or signs with ND.

Doesnt really seem like anything has changed in the last week. If he gets into Stanford he's going there and if not he'll choose ND. The chances he gets into Stanford are by all accounts pretty slim.

I don't blame him at all.

Would ND fans rather he announce that Stanford is his leader and ND is not his first choice... but he couldnt get into Stanford so he will have to settle for going to ND?

Isn't it a lot cleaner to pretend like you are waiting on a visit to UGA and in the meantime, wait to hear back from Stanford admissions? If he gets into Stanford, that is fine. If not, he plays it off like his choice was ND all the way. Why not give it one more shot to qualify academically for the school you really want to attend?

Especially as ND fans, how can anyone criticize a kid who is serious about academics and is striving to improve his test scores to go to one of the top academic schools in the country. I think it shows his intelligence that he realizes that NSD is a farce and that he is going to wait until he has all the information he requires to make the best decision for him.

I salute this young man.

I guess I'm just confused why he has this obsession with Stanford when he has never visited. That's like me saying Germany is my favorite country in the world. (I've never been to Germany). Doesn't make sense.

Stanford is objectively the best school academically in college football. Unlike Duke, Vanderbilt, etc... they've been competing for conference championships and 10+ win seasons for the last 5 years. Really is a pain in the ass for ND since usually we can claim that we have the best combination of football and academics in the country

That Georgia poster on Under the Dome insists that Demetris really wants Georgia and that ND is only his brother's idea. The guy implies that he has some special knowledge of the situation, but I'm inclined to think it's really a Stanford/ND race based on what you guys are telling me.

So why should ND wait around to see what happens?

Why doesn't ND say either you sign tomorrow or you can't be apart of this class. Then the kid has to decide if he wants to take the sure thing or wait for Stanford.

I'm not advocating they do that but throwing it out there. Do you see that as immoral? Honestly don't have an opinion yet, but curious as to what everyone thinks.

Demetris has been no drama so far. We want him and we want him badly because we need speed but he hasn't been fanning the flames of recruit fires. We are just too excitable near NSD.

Hope he signs with the good guys, it'd be a shame to see him in red.

It's very simple. He is sold on Stanford and wants to do everything possible to go there. It's like finding a pretty nice car (ND) you wouldn't mind having and a car you really want (Stanford) but the bank(s) won't loan you enough. The finance manager (in this case Wooly) says, I have one more lender, let me try them. He's just waiting to see if that lender will give him the score he needs for Stanford.

I think it's a f&*%king stupid idea considering how bad we need him. There is nothing wrong with a recruit taking more time. The coaches have told him how bad he's wanted.

They won't be any less happy if he chooses ND in two week or tomorrow.

This seems like the dumbest route to take possible if you are ND. ND has been recruiting this kid for two years I am sure they will give him one more week. Just let this thing play out, he's an extreme long shot to get into Stanford per everyone. This is a 5* difference maker in this offense, no offense to him but it's not like they are waiting on Gehrig Dieter

Why? ND never gets to the 85 man limit, DR is supremely talented - maybe the most talented kid we are recruiting, and it's only a week after NSD. I see no upside whatsoever in forcing his hand.

I don't see it as immoral in the right situation, but I don't see this as even being close to that type of situation. Get this kid to ND even if he doesn't sign until March 1st.

For the love of God people stop bringing up Stanford. It isn't just about test scores, it's also about grades. No matter what you hear Stanford is not an option. They haven"t even had meaningful contact with DR since the summer.

There isn't a single Georgia fan who doesn't think Drob is going to Georgia. After dealing with them in this recruitment they have moved up my list of worst fanbases in America.

Again just playing Devil's Advocate, but as of right now, all indications are that this decision is based on whether he can get into Stanford or not.

Under the status quo, things are completely out of our hands. If we gave him an ultimatum, we could force him to choose whether academics really are that important to him (aka go to ND, the sure thing) or whether he doesn't really care about academics that much and he would settle for Georgia.

The "upside" is not waiting around to see what happens with Stanford.
