This is where I am at too. Looking at the site, Loy is in the minority on each of the three he has CB'ed to ND. Now he may still be correct as a number of the ones that lean the other way tend to be pretty aged and maybe those guys haven't checked up on these guys as mich, but stil...

Well, I guess we will know in about 2 weeks

Yeah, but most people have been silent on Caleb Kelly though. He only has 23 predictions, half of which, were done in 2014. He currently is predicted at 94% to OU, but I think reasonable minds could all agree that the chances are far less than that.

Kelly walks and talks like an ND recruit. Other Fresno guys have really liked the school, but he's the first that I've seen that really is an obvious fit.

I feel like we lose our share of those those types of kids to Stanford, UCLA, Texas, Michigan, USC, or Urban Meyer, but I am very confident going up against OK (where the kid is not local).

Denbrock and BVG will be visiting with Kelly today per Loy

My only hesitation would be that he has great, great relationships with the OK staff, so I hope we don't give them an opportunity to get the last word in...

EDIT: OK, this means "Denbrock and BVG will be visiting with [Caleb] Kelly today..." not "Denbrock and BVG will be visiting [Caleb] with [Biran] Kelly today." That makes me feel better.

Wonder if Kelly got his impression of BVG from the few short clips of the "Defense" meetings that aired on Showtime?
BK going in last has to be huge for us. ABC baby.

Like when BVG was repeatedly calling out Jaylon in front of the team for not being more of a leader on the field. Made me uncomfortable and didn't come off well.

Even if BK used his in-home with Caleb today, Stoops has already used his in-home with Caleb so BK will probably get the last face-to-face meeting with Caleb

When it comes to high schools recruits, Fresno may as well be a suburb of OKC, just like Norman.

The other thing you have to remember is not just his personal relationship with the staff at OU but his mentors back in Fresno's relationship to the staff at OU. It's powerful mojo when you control high school coaches and the 7v7 coaches.

Hopefully he sees that an injury can instantly change you from a 5 star, can't miss pro prospect into a mere mortal. That OU degree then limits your handshakes to a small, undesirable region.

Yes from what I've heard Kelly is very different from the other Fresno kids we've recruited. Far more of a Notre Dame fit. Combination of football and academics plus smaller campus environment appeals to a kid like Kelly.

Obviously, he might end up at OU. But it still feels more like Tillery to me than Ju Ju Smith-- Tillery was from Louisiana, but he was not your typical Louisiana recruit.

Had no problem with that at all.

Me neither. I'm not a huge BVG fan as a coordinator but Watching that I viewed it more as a coach challenging his best player to develop his game beyond the physical...never felt malicious or uncomfortable to me at all...ive witnessed amd experienced first hand way worse from some of the best high level coaches i ever played for who definitely got the most out of their players...at the end of the day the best players want to be challenged, not have their asses kissed..its that mindset that many times got them to where they are and commands the respect of their peers which ultimately separates them as the alpha.

I don't know if I can handle too much more good news. Between the possibility of 2 5 stars and the NY Daily news reporting that Manti has a real girlfriend, I'm ready to burst.

Fresno has never been kind to ND. But you know what they say about blind squirrels!

Most likely means nothing, but the last person that Caleb followed on Twitter was Demetris Robertson

McKinley and Kelly were talking quite a bit during the Army game week of practice. Openly about ND, McKinley was recruiting him before he even publicly announced for ND.

What's our projected rank picking up Kelly and DRob?

Sprinkle in a Jones and another.

I don't know but it's certainly not going to be disappointing.

Btw I want Kelly more than DRob but I'll take either or both!

Same. I think Robinson might be a better talent, but I'm of the mindset we need as many play makers on defense as possible.

That's a tough call. My brain says Kelly, but I keep thinking about how nice it would be to have a true game changer at kickoff and PR.

Playmakers in this day and age go on the offensive side of the ball. It's no longer run the ball and play dominant defense. It's outscore the opponent. See Alabama 45 Clemson 40. Even Saban realizes you have to score points to win in today's game.

This is the sort of tea-leaves reading and analysis you really don't get anywhere else. No italics. I mean this as a good thing.

There has to be some significance to it. It can't be a bad thing for us, can it?

It does seem strange to me that he'd choose now to follow a guy that he has no real and present connection with (unless he does have a connection).

Still, a man hears what he wants to hear. And disregards the rest.

Maybe they just hit it off and had the ND connection, but you never know, maybe that connection is something they are building on. It doesn't hurt that they really don't seem like guys that will be crossing paths if they don't both choose Notre Dame. One would end up at OU and the other at Bama/GA if they didn't come here.

It seems like, at the least, its a "Are you thinking ND?"
