He's being recruited as an Athlete. May most likely wind up at LB.
I watched some footage of him at a RCS camp over the summer. During 1on1's, he was bigger than the LB's. I agree that his upside is probably at LB, really nice frame.
Saban's an idiot. Just think of the upside lost in Richardson, Lacy and Henry.
How come no offer yet?

Definitely wants to play RB, not LB in college. ND offered as an ATH and he discusses that in the Scout piece below.
Notre Dame legacy lands Irish offer - Notre Dame - Scout
Hopefully the staff can allay some of those fears by explaining he'll have every opportunity to earn a spot at RB but he should trust the coaches to maximize his talent.
Personally, I'd love to have a bowling ball at RB with his type of balance. He always had those legs churning.
There's a roster full of LB's his size and bigger right now. There is nothing close to his physical skill set at RB. Tony Jones is being cast as the big back and he's about 20 pounds less than Dillon.
Is it wrong to want an (eventual) 240+ lb RB?
2017 could be the year Thunder (Dillon) and Lightning (Ali-Walsh) roll into South Bend.
.
Just going over some names mentioned on Power Hour today and catching up with some of the 17 names.
I agree completely NDCrusader. I am sick of running out of the shotgun on 3rd and short! We need a true power back that can knock D lineman backwards.
I would love to see him here and get his shot at RB.
Sure thing, as long as we aren't taking Ali early. If ND strikes out they should take him later on.
I took a long look at his Hudl page. If we don't lock up Dillon we struck out big time. I am just digging in to the 17 class, but This kid is VERY good. No way I would put him on defense.
Who is Ali?
I think he's a take no matter what IMO, reminds me a lot of Elijah Hood (not just because he's a big back).
Playing sparingly as a freshman with the varsity at New London High School in 2012, Dillon and his family felt it was time for a change of scenery. He transferred to Lawrence in 2013, repeating his freshman year. To this day, he says he has no regrets with the decision.
I don't want to wait until my senior year to make a decision. I feel like I want to go into my senior year here already knowing where I am going to go. Right now I'm thinking the latest I'll make my decision will be in the spring."
This sure sounds like it's going to be much tougher than originally thought. As I say this he'll probably commit, lol.
