IMO this all smells of public deflection on Robertson's part. He is from Georgia. Everything he is doing right now is trying to earn acceptance into Stanford. IMO he will go to Stanford if accepted. If not, he winds up at UGA with Smart.

Sounds about right to me. Unfortunately.

Why would he be deflecting and saying Stanford and ND are leaders, is there pressure from somewhere to go to one of those two? I would think if he was trying to deflect he'd say Georgia since I would assume that would be the local pressure.

I meant he is just trying to deflect attention from everyone. If you read this thread there is no consensus from any of the writer's on where ends up. In some interviews he gives leaders, and in others he gives a different group of leaders.

Anyway, my overall point is that ND's ability to pull non-catholic 5-star kids from the deep south is extremely unlikely. This kid clearly wants to get into Stanford. Otherwise I think the pull to leave Georgia is too strong.

exactly...when he talks to georgia reporters he always mentions georgia tech...however when he speaks w/ others NEVER mentions them as a landing spot

Maybe he thinks that if he really wants to be a Stanford "academic take" he has to maintain the idea that ND is an option for him.

Yeah. Sure seems like Stanford or the SEC for this one. Hope I'm wrong, but some kids - even smart ones who care about academics - just don't feel it for Notre Dame. Too bad.

Gotcha. Thanks!

While anyone in the sec won't give ND a chance ISD believes we are true players and our in better position then some think.

. Some with ties to the program are cautiously optimistic that the Irish are running no worse than second next to Alabama while some are even more confident that he’ll choose Notre Dame in the end.

I think ND has a chance but I think Ga is really the team to beat in the end and not Alabama. He has stated that he wants to play with Hardman - who I think Bama leads for - but those package deals usually don't pan out. Now that Kirby is the HC at Ga, I just don't see him leaving.

I think Alloway is UCLA and I thought he was going to make his decision on Signing Day. Demetris is going to be a hard pull from GA. If he gets pulled from Georgia...I'm thinking Bama. Nothing new here.

How much does Javon coming affect Demtris? Also what about Damian Alloway?

Lol you talk like you know all sometimes but then ask questions like this. Javon doesn't affect Demtrius at all. There is a reason Damian Alloway hasn't committed to ND, he's not coming here

Yes rivals had a VERY positive update and we are right in the thick of this

I'm so skeptical of this update. Not on your end obviously, but Rivals end. Lip service at this point. He needs to take another visit with family for me to buy into this.

I agree. To borrow a term from game of thrones... words are wind. I think he gives positive lip service to ND sources/reporters but his actions belie we're probably not at the top of his list.

No second visit means he isn't coming.... I would put ND third at best

Totally with ya only sense of confidence I really have is ISD, rivals and 247 are all pretty much saying the same thing. But then we here from Wilfong that ND is confident so we are hearing it from Roberston and the ND side so that's good to know.

More positive statements from Wiltfong today regarding Demetris and his famly's thoughts on ND. Sounds like they are sold on the academic side of things and this next month or so will be about talking up the football aspect of ND. Focusing primarily on NFL success of players under this staff.
