After two seasons at Notre Dame, Folston had rushed for more yards (1,369 yards, 5.2 per rush) than all but three backs in program history. Only Allen Pinkett (2,037 in 1982-83), Darius Walker (1,982 in 2005-06) and current running backs coach Autry Denson (1,941 in 1995-96) rushed for more yards.

Definitely overrated.

I think Folston has been a great traditional back. He doesn't have CJ s burst, but he can break off some nice runs, and he has a strong lower half...he's a different back. I loved having him in the backfield...its like the difference between Reggie Brooks and Rocket at tailback...I wouldn't trade either for anyone, but what they do is way different.

He's very productive. I never said he was bad. But you don't have to go too far back to see people talking Heisman.

Folston doesn't only have this year and next to pick when to come out. He could play in 2017 as well. I believe this year counted as a RS or medical since he has not sat a year since coming to ND

He would need the school to apply for a medical hardship waiver, but I don't think he would have any problem getting that.

I don't think you can ever blame a RB for leaving early. Lifetime carries of a running back are limited, and I believe a guy like Derrick Henry (career HS rushing leader) will be hurt by the amount of carries he has already had in high school and college. I'm not saying he will get drafted ahead of Henry, but some NFL team will get a versatile player who can receive, get some carries, and return, which at this point could make him more valuable than a guy like Henry.

Adams doesn't possess their speed. He can break one from time to time. When Prosise and Fuller get the ball, we all glue ourselves to the TV because we know they can break one anytime. Just not the case with Adams...yet. He may turn out to be that way, and he may (def is IMO) a better pure RB than Prosise, but he's much less electric at this point.

I don't think Adams is far behind. Dude did have a 98yard TD.

CJ has more shake, as someone said above. And Fuller is one of the 2-3 fastest players in college football. But Adams is gone when he gets behind the defenders.

If CJ is so much better than Adams in every angle then why did Adams out produce him this year on a per carry basis?

Procise can slither thru a small hole but Adams is a better short yardage back. Kelly treated CJ like a WR at RB wanting to make sure he didn't have to carry the ball a whopping 20 times a game. That's not a RB IMO if you have to make sure they avoid getting a bruise here and there. CJ was possibly tough but not durable. He was 220 but ran like 195. Cam ran more physical than CJ. He is versatile and won best special teams player a year or two ago which should help his draft stock (rounds 4-5). Pretty sure next year would have been his 5th. Fuller going to get pushed around badly in the pros.

Great Notre Dame kid. With the way RB has been devalued in the draft recently, he's going to be a great pick for someone. Hope he lights up the combine and gets paid.

Without sounding horrible, it may have been better that If Folston was going to get hurt, it happened so early. Got CJ some work and Adams some experience. I'm very confident with our 1-2 punch at RB next year. I love Adams speed and Folstons shake and ability to make people miss. He's got great vision and incredible subtle moves and level changes that gain extra yards.
I really wish CJ the best at the next level. Seemed like a great kid on the series.

Irishlax, I think 40 more carries would have changed his yards per carry.

He also has almost 20 more receptions so his hands are better, he has better agility and moves, he is faster. He is flat out better than adams. In every aspect in ability!

Like Adams, but he isn't as good as CJ. And CJ did all this in being a RB in 1 season. Safety, WR, and now RB. Adams is a freshman.

You have your opinion, I have mine. CJ is way better and it isn't that close in my opinion.

Next year, if Folson is back, Adams most likely won't be the starter. I think Folson is a far more complete back too. Even at the same age, he had better hands, blocked better, and had more shiftyness. He just isn't close to as fast.

I am glad he is on our team, and a dang glad he is a future star. But, they will get to battle it out next year to show who is the best.

Great problem to have, and if I had a choice of them CJ would be mine.

Highlights don't change the fact that Adams just doesn't have the same final gear that Prosise possesses. Adams can and has been caught from behind. That doesn't happen with the two I mentioned.

If I saw the state correctly, Theo was 3rd on the Lions for receptions. Considering he didn't see much time at the start of the season, that's a pretty damn good finish for a guy who's the #3 back on the team.

I believe he lead the NFL in receptions for RB position.

Got to think he goes no higher than a third round pick. Maybe a low 2, but he has so little experience and he didn't make it through a whole season without missing time. Has anyone mentioned what the NFL evaluators graded him out at?

I don't know, but I remember this article, which said he hadn't revealed a grade. Not sure if there is other news out.
