That was a pretty cool video. The voice over and the lines at the end were a great touch. Welcome aboard Daelin!

Thanks, Sark! Continuing a recent tradition of SC HC hires that do more for ND than SC during their tenure!

Also big having a committed Daelin at the banquet!

will he be able to play in the Army bowl?

saw the rivals article mentioned he would take part in the festivities? That sounded like No to me, just clarifying.

wasn't a lynch an EE who played in it? could be a possibility I guess
but if his shoulder still messed up not fully healed don't want him playing in it...just get to ND and let our staff deal with it-don't risk messing it up.

There were reports out there that Alford was negatively recruiting Notre Dame during the in-home, but Hayes said in an interview posted today that Alford refused to speaking anything of Notre Dame.

Also from the interview, he is a very well spoken individual and I can easily see him being Jaylon-esque if he stay healthy

ND Recruiting Class of 2016 at #8 on Rivals

That's a ten-spot jump with Daelin's commitment. They were at #18 yesterday I think, and that was after the most recent player-rating updates.

Julian Okwara, Khalid Kareem, and now Daelin Hayes. DE recruiting has pretty much done a complete 180; I remember last year a lot of people (including me) were bitching because DE recruiting was pretty much at an all time low

Is he close with any of the 2017 kids coming out of Michigan? There is a lot of talent in Michigan next year.

I'm still somewhat surprised we ended up with him......that being said, I pray his shoulder holds up to the physicality of college football. Welcome to ND, Daelin!!!

The shoulder issue may have landed him in South Bend. If he is thinking about how scholarship players are treated, even when injuries overtake them, and what that ND degree means...no brainer.

Bonus is, guys around the defensive front at ND have a way of getting the development they need...add 4 star talent...NFL here we come...again ND is a great choice.

He is either a real wise kid, or there is a mentor behind him giving him real good advice.

Welcome aboard Mr. Hayes. It'll be fun to watch you.

Dear Dayne,

Why don't you worry about selling life insurance instead of making fun kids announcing to your alma mater? No?

Thanks,

I don't know...I think the hype stuff actually takes away the ability for these guys to have time to develop...its non-value add pressure. The entitlement stuff comes from the 18 years before a kid ever gets to college, and is either fixed, or enhanced by the college experience.

I think Crist has his heart in the right place, but his view of the genesis of entitlement is off the mark IMO.

He's not making fun of Daelin. He's saying BR probably asked for this.

But he's also making a commentary on athletes' sense of entitlement, and using a kid that will enroll at his own alma mater as an example.

Either way he sounds like a grumpy old man lol.
