Very deserving of this honor, congrats Sheldon.

However, I too am stunned that neither Stanley or Big Mike were even on the second team. Stanley is going to be one of the first OL off the draft board and Mike's numbers were equally insane. Also, we generated some pretty staggering rushing numbers with our 4th string RB. Now that kid is pretty good but that should still matter.

Yeah, strange. Sheldon rocked and was very deserving but so were our tackles and our center wasn't bad either.

Oh well, happy to have three on the list. Hopefully we take the Joe Moore award home to it's rightful spot.

Standing ovation, Sheldon!

I believe that the big guy was wearing down late in the season and we're about to see a wrecking ball at work vs OSU once he gets this rest. I would not be looking forward to the game if I was an OSU OLineman --- vs Rochell either [who was just about as good as Sheldon in my opinion.]

As to the OLine: I think that Ronnie suffered from two things: a desire to honor those Big12 offenses plus Alabama/Stanford/OSU et al, and being enmeshed in a five-monster front where all of them were outstanding [Ronnie, weirdly, was the lowest rank of the five in the statistics breakdown, though they ALL were playing at championship level.] The AA evaluators should just make the entire ND OLine the number three AAs. ... people who gripe about us not making every play a TD [and consequently grading Coach Harry only A- {what a joke}] need to watch the game more closely and note how many times the blown plays are the prime responsibility of the TE or the RB/HBack. ... and they need to get more reasonable expectations.

I believe that the above makes some sense, but not sure that the following comment does: I believe that we had one other AA [assuming that you can't add Prosise and Adams together], who is remarkably underrated: Cole Luke. In the toughest position to succeed in on the field, Luke shut almost everything down [unlike Keivaree, who was pretty darn good generally despite the "fans" uber demands.] As I say, probably wrong-headed by me, and I'm not saying first team, but I was applauding Quiet Cole all year.

Well deserved! Had a a awesome career at ND and was a pleasure to watch. Hopefully BVG doesn't stunt him outside on every 3rd down vs OSU.

Allegedly suffered a "significant foot injury" this week and is questionable for the game.

For a DL that relies on quickness, this really sucks. Kid had an outstanding year. Sad it has to end like this.

Now out for warmups, seems to be laboring a little bit.

The lack of any wrap job probably indicates that it is indeed a foot injury and not any sort of ankle problem. So maybe it'll just come down to pain tolerance.

I really don't think the sky is falling here. A rotation of Day, Jones and Cage is solid. Even if banged up.

That clip makes me feel a little better. I have no doubt Sheldon is going to give it all he has today. Regardless of the outcome, it's been a pleasure watching SD play the past 4 years. One of my all-time favorites.

I'm sure his foot has a wrap or they placed some sort of support pad in his shoe.

2 D players out. Day injured, not sure what we are gna get out of J. Jones. Offense is gna have to be on point and someone on D other than Jaylon needs to step up and make some plays.

I'm not sure I think he goes that high but his play this season was really really good. If he had more time getting after the backfield then I think his numbers would've been even better.

Daniel Jeremiah needs to tweet out some videos of Day dropping into coverage. I'm confident that no DT in this draft has as much experience in that category as Sheldon.

The funny thing is Clemson was definitly doing that during the National Championship.

I know and zone blitzes are insanely common. Clemson also has a bunch of other players on the DL that can get after the passer so dropping 1 of them isn't as big of a deal. However, when your defense is having trouble getting consistent pressure with just the front 4, dropping your best DL into coverage to bring Joe S is beyond stupid. I'd be fine with it if Joe was getting home or these blitzes worked but they rarely did. So its a matter of different circumstances. End rant.

I love me some Sheldon Day. One of my favorite players of recent memory. Hoping he stays healthy in the league because if he does, I think he'll be successful.

Really helped himself his senior year with jump in production. 3-tech type for a 4-3.
