If I was truly elite DT or DE I may feel this way but I feel the need to keep having to say this. A freshman isn't coming in and taking Trumbetti, Rochelle, Tillery, J. Jones etc. jobs next year. Just isn't happening. Will they get some run time? Of course, but its not what people make it out to be. Just like as good as Tillery has been playing, he wasn't going to start over Jones and he's not even starting over Cage. Do we really think an 18 year old is then going to take Tillery's job after a full year in the system?

Won't be here to see how the campus life is, what game day atmosphere is like, etc. If he is making an official trip to come to a banquet that seems like legit interest. Looking more at the school and what it provides and not just here for the excitement of game day and to have a free fun weekend.

might've changed, things are a fluid situation, this was as of a month or so ago when Witflong was saying that.

If LSU has bumped Michigan from the top 2, then his entire list is pretty much SEC schools and Michigan, which yeah fits in with kinda what I thought, that he'd wind up at Auburn.

SEC plays by a different set of rules when it comes to recruiting. Hard to beat SEC schools for recruits.

I don't know the stats, but my general impression is that having kids attend the banquet has been percentage wise a pretty strong play for ND. I am not saying he visits, but if he does, that is a great opportunity.

Lotta time between now and the banquet though.
And, as Michigan Tom intimated, the number of kids we land who list Auburn among their top choices is historically very low.

According to Gary's mom, Jennifer Coney-Shepherd, two schools are preventing Gary from moving forward with the recruiting process.

"I think he wants to see USC and Notre Dame before he figures out what he wants to do," Coney-Shepherd said.
