Well I had a buddy come into town last weekend and we rented the new Black Ops 3 to mess around with a bit. The campaign was boring. Just the same, hand holding, game that they've made for the last few years. We finished about an hour of the campaign and then turned it off.

The zombie was fun. The map is hard, but I genuinely like it. If they sold just the Zombies part of the game separately for like $10 I would prolly buy it.

The Muliplayer.... oy veyyyy. Its fun, well sorta. Just and FYI, my friend is a massive fan of the series. He played the shit out of Black Ops 2 and Ghosts. Last year installment he was disappointed in, so he was pretty excited fr BOPS3..... Lets just say, that after playing a decent amount of online multiplayer, he basically said COD was dead... lol. And we both thought that the map design has progressively gotten worse and worse since MW3. And for both of us, BOPs3 is the perfect rental game. You pay $4 to rent it all weekend. You can come back home from the bars, scream at little kids, have your fun, laugh about how shit the game is, and then return it Monday morning.

Then during the week if I wanna play anything, I have no urge to want to play BOPS, i simply but the Witcher 3 in.

Do you have any interest in playing the zombie map? Wondering if you've had any success. I've only made it to level 9 I think. Very cool, vast map, but difficult.

It's an optional part of the game, but it's kind of fun and I find myself spending a lot of time doing it anyway. You start off with one settlement with a few survivors. You can then build the settlement up by scrapping nearby debris and items for resources. You use those resources to build shacks and shelter, build beds, plant crops, setup defensive walls and turrets, add generators and lights, attract new settlers, etc. Once your community is thriving you can play around a bit by getting creative. Over time raiders will try and hit your settlements though. You have to keep your defenses high, and occasionally you may get a distress call anyway to help repel an attack. I've got 5 settlements currently, 4 of them are mostly just outposts with a handful of people, but 1 I've been slowly building up one to be my main hub of sorts.

Fallout is so tempting but I feel like Battlefront is going to be more time sensitive in terms of playability and resale value since it's all dependent on muktiplayer adoption. I think I'm going to go Battlefront first, Fallout probably around Christmas.

Those of you playing FO4, what perks are you finding really useful? One that I'll recommend especially early on is scrounger. I was constantly running low on ammo for my better guns early on, but after getting scrounger I'm always stocked with ammo. It's been a lifesaver especially since I want to be an energy weapon scientist sort of character.

I'm thinking about getting the similar bottle cap perk just because this one works so dramatically.

Apparently Idiot Savant is super powerful.

Btw I love when Bethesda games come out. Half the game is fun because of playing it, but the other half of the fun is figuring out exploits and how to maximize your character

Seriously. I spend the first several weeks "solving" the game, usually one play-through going for max 'sploitz, and then several more balanced play-throughs for max enjoyment.

So I'm thinking of selling FIFA 16 (already) and subscribing to EA Access. Their "Vault" offers access to FIFA 15, Madden 15, NHL 15, and others. Thoughts?

Does anyone else just, like, not buy games until they've been out for 3 years and are dirt cheap as part of the Humble Bundle? I'm presently working my way through Blade of Darkness, which was released in like 2000 and advertised as having "the most advanced blood and gore engine ever created." I'm cutting apart enemies and using their severed limbs as weapons. It's great.

I do this... sports games I buy at the time of course... but I buy most RPGs or shooters long after they have come out...

I'm the opposite with sports games. I don't much care about updated rosters except for my team and I update those myself anyways. Old sports games are usually crazy cheap. I was playing FIFA 08 until a couple of weeks ago.

When you popped in 15 you didn't feel the massive upgrade in AI and gameplay??? 08 was comical how you could just run right through the defense...

There were some definite exploits. In Dynasty mode (or whatever it's called), if you upgraded you trainer to level 10, fitness went through the roof and you could play the entire season with the turbo button held down.
on your Atari?
I have an Atari. "Adventure" is the tits.

Speaking of FIFA, I miss the days of FIFA 04 before every half-Mexican teenager in California decided they were die-hard Barcelona fans. I was pwning n00bs with lofted through balls to Samuel Eto'o way before anyone ever heard of Lionel Messi.

I hate playing that game online... trying to get any matchup that doesn't include your opponent taking Real or Barca is next to impossible... I'm sitting here on the Galaxy or Celtic or Nott. Forrest logo ready to push the X button and they have already chosen Barca... I sit there like, 'you see who I'm about to pick, let's have a actual match please" and they never back out and pick anyone else...

screw that noise, more fun to play the CPU in Manager Mode

Even then I feel like the stars are overpowered. I started my manager career in MLS and it sucks facing a guy like Clint Dempsey. My 65 overall CBs get torched by an 82 striker no matter how defensive I set things so I'm forced to go super aggressive and try to win in a shootout.

I use custom formations on that one and set my two CB's deeper and closer together, never get out of 'defensive' tactics unless absolutely forced... it works for me, I'm Celtic playing teams like Lyon who have bought every major, pacey, striker in the world five years into my MM (They are super beastly right now...) ... I've built Celtic up but not THAT much, it's still a major miss match... if I don't do adjustments like that they rock me in aggregate... when I do try that, it's a contest (but then again, I'm an idiot, so what do I know... ;) ).

EA Access is awesome. You also get all EA games on a 10 hour trial 5 days before the game is officially released

I am a sports game dweeb who just wandered in to this thread...how have I not heard of EA Access?!?! Any cliff notes for me? Available for PS3, or only the 4? (Yes I know what google is :) )

Currently playing NBA 2K16/College football/and The Show...about to break back out the last EA College Hoops game. I say currently as in between work/wife/kiddo, about 3 games per week, if I'm willing to play at midnight. :)

My son likes Zombies, I'm not a huge fan of it. Rather play multilayer battles

Same here. I don't remember what the last new game I bought was. When they get around $20 and I absolutely have to have it is when I buy. I don't spend much time playing any more though, I think it's been about two weeks since I played my PS1, I thought I'd finally commit to playing Final Fantasy 8. That lasted two nights. I passed on GTAV about four months ago at a local resale shop. I own but haven't even touched Skyrim and Twilight Princess.

I started playing zombies on BO2 because I got the game late and everyone killed me on multilayer. That was the best zombie game of all 3 black ops and idk if anyone would disagree, so I got hooked.
