Snake Identification

So I go outside last night and my neighbor has a flashlight and a rake and a look of fear on his face, so I'm like "What ya got, Louis?"
He says "A snake and its stuck in a glue trap."
So I go over and sure enough, there is this huge yellowish with black diamonds snake stuck in one of those mouse glue traps. Here are some pics. I cannot for sure identify this snake I am holding (I used a box cutter to cut off as much of the trap as I could without hurting the snake) but think is a variation of a corn snake. Definitely not poisonous cause his head was not arrow shaped.

I am 5'7 and its nearly as long as me (although some men are longer than others:wink:). It was heavy, too. And that is my wife holding the back so it wouldn't keep wrapping around my arm while I worked to set it free.

Anyone recognize this snake? No, I did not kill it and yes, I set it free.

I have one debilitating fear in life... I'm good with heights, spiders, lizards, the dark, tight spaces... but I can't handle snakes... here in Cali if it's green with spots it's shotgun time as it's almost certainly deadly... I would have blasted five shotgun shells into that thing just to make sure... haha

on a sidenote, I'm diggin the Halloween decor of the house across the street.

So after careful consideration of all the photos, it boils down to one thing for me:
Where can I find a shirt like that?

You know, I put these pics on facebook and have gotten more compliments and questions on the shirt than on my snake wrangling. And every time I wear it I get young women walking up to me asking about it and my wife getting jealous about these "Young girls hitting on me". I keep telling her its definitely the shirt.

And believe it or not I got it at Walmart about 4 months ago.

I thought you were setting us up for a trouser snake joke. Would have been a job well done.

Looks like an amelinistic florida/brooks kingsnake. Think you caught someones former pet.

Then you would have marinated that bastard in chimichurri and then smoked it alongside some tri-tip in your badass homemade grill/smoker combo that wizards is insanely jealous of. Served with guacamole.

Definitely a corn snake. Panda called it a American Ghost which is a common name for color variation of corn snake.

Harmless and mild mannered, unless you're a rodent.

Oops, you may be right. I can't see the picture on my phone in detail but if it has black specks, it's a king snake. Figured with him being in TN and it's size, it would be a cornsnake.

Yeah, he has black specks. I was afraid I caught someones pet and let him go when I should have put him in a tub or something and called the local rescue society. I'll look for him today. Maybe he didn't get too far.

Based on size alone, it's nothing like anything I've ever seen!

This was well on the road to Thread of the Year, and then some of you had to get all serious and actually answer the initial post.

I can definitely rule out that its not an Alabama Black Snake...

This is a fact. Bama Black Snakes are commonly 10-12' in length. This little White Corn Snake is the typical 5-6'.

There Lion... Back on track.

Can't help you on this one. I have to ID an anaconda every morning, but don't know much about the smaller ones.
