TIFWIW but i just received a text that OH S prospect Tyrell Ajian is going to commit to Notre Dame on September 5th. Not sure how reliable the information is since nothing has really been said about him since he visited for Irish Invasion. I talked to one of his coaches a few weeks back and he told me he loved ND and they were #2 behind OSU. But since they havent offered, we could be ahead. I expect him to end up in the '17 class whether its next weekend or on signing day 2017.

I don't have an answer to that, maybe somebody else might. I know that OSU would be a huge player with an offer but I also know that after II it was said we were making big strides with him due to the early offer and relationship.

I think they've got two big-time safeties committed for '17 already, as well. Maybe that will help.

From what I was told earlier in the summer if he got an OSU offer he would have committed on the spot, and this was after he visited ND for II. I haven't heard anything new in regards to that, but like I previously posted I was told recently and got another confirmation from someone different that Tyrell is commiting this Saturday to ND. We were in second for awhile, and I think since OSU's DB class for next year is pretty impressive he saw the writing on the wall. The kid loves ND though and would be a solid pickup for next years class.

That's my guess. The staff should probably keep working on him and keep working on backup plans for his scholarship.

If the kid is legit and genuinely wants to accept the gift of a full ride scholarship to attend the University of Notre Dame, then we welcome him with open arms. Per Loy's sources with the OSU program, Buttnuts guys most likley, they don't believe they'll offer anytime soon.

Which is most likely really good for us, sooner rather than later.

Scout: Top junior nearly commits

Junior athlete Tyrell Ajian returned to South Bend for Notre Dame’s opener against Texas. He wasn’t disappointed with what he saw out of the Irish, on and off the field.

Notre Dame’s 38-3 win over Texas on Saturday night spoke loudly and clearly to visiting prospects.

It even tempted junior athlete Tyrell Ajian to end the recruiting process.

“It’s a thought, but I’m not sure yet,” said Ajian, a 6-foot-1, 185-pounder from Mansfield, Ohio. “The atmosphere was electrifying, loud and exciting. I love it.”

Ajian, who is being recruited by Notre Dame as an athlete/slot receiver, visited South Bend over the summer to showcase his skills at the the Irish Invasion. He returned to experience the game day environment and to get an up close look at the Irish offense.

He wasn’t disappointed as the Notre Dame racked up 527 yards of offense and seven different wide receivers caught passes.

“The best part of the trip was talking to coach (Brian) Kelly,” Ajian said. “He’s a great coach to speak to. I talked to coach Kelly and coach (Mike) Elston and they just talked to me and told me where I’d fit at.”

After seeing the Irish in action, Ajian believes he’d be a perfect fit in South Bend.
“I loved it,” he said. “I think it would fit me good.”

Ajian also is considering Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Nebraska. He will visit Michigan State next weekend for the Spartans game against Oregon. From that group only Notre Dame has offered.

On Friday, Ajian led Mansfield High to a 21-6 win over River Valley.

He caught touchdown passes of eight and 41 yards. He also returned an interception 42 yards for another score.

In two games he has two interceptions and three touchdowns for the Rams, who improved to 1-1.

I have seen this young man play and to be COMPLETLY honest I never thought he was a 4 star top 200 player in the nation. Maybe he was just off his game that night but this is very surprising.
