meant to be the hardest of them all to learn![]()
At one point I had been teaching myself Polish to try to converse with my grandfather, whose first language was Polish.
Then he died and I stopped caring to try.
But now I'm kinda back into wanting to learn a language. My supervisor's first language is Polish, so I'm sure I could try out some of my phrases on him, lol
I'm getting a little frustrated already. It is not explaing the plural usage of words, so I continually get them wrong. Or I am just stupid. Ugh. Maybe this time next year I'm typing this all in Spanish.
I am a big fan of the phrase "Milego Piatku". it means Happy Friday![]()
So I put this phrase into google translate because I was 99% sure that you were trying to pull one over on me (tell me it meant "Happy Friday" so I'd tell it to my supervisor when in Polish it actually meant "Go F*** yourself" or something awful like that and I'd get fired).
BUT - you were telling the truth.
And now I feel like a jerk. This board has made me become jaded![]()

I'm a girl - so I'm assuming that's the answer as to the sense of fraternity![]()
I am getting so frustrated with this crap. There are so many ins and outs of this language that aren't even esplained, they just tell you your wrong. I don't feel like I've leaned anything in the past month. Really pissing me off.
That does help. I am going to practice for a while before I move on again. I need to come to grips with what I've learned before I keep adding new stuff.

I'm at 52% for Spanish. I don't do it every day anymore but at least 4 times a week I would say. It's definitely helped me relearn a lot of the vocabulary at a minimum. And I can translate just about anything. Creating my own sentences is a different animal.
Kitchen?Just know, when you meet a very good looking Latina, call her a "Cochina"... It'll impress the hell out of her....![]()
That is my problem. I can understand a lot of what is said and translate those sentences, but speaking it is a whole other story. I screw it up constantly. I have a Mexican preacher at my church so I told him I was trying to learn Spanish but really struggling when it came to speaking real sentences. He suggested watching a spanish language tv channel with the english subtitles going. He said he did that for hours when learning english. Sounds like a good idea, actually.
