Kelly has his best offensive potential at ND for both the next 2 years, Pretty sure he knows it, in addition to this high octane offense being on field turf.

Per Bobby Burton, 247

My top player at each position from the West squad morning practice session:

QB Jerrod Heard
- Crazy good on the zone read and had some nice throws in one-on-ones.

RB Christian McCaffrey
- Best receiver of the running back group by far. Can break down any linebacker during a route.

WR KD Cannon
- Elite burst, hands and terrific moves in space. Everyone else is fighting for second.

OL Brian Wallace
- He is ideal for a tackle. Long arms, quick feet and surprising strength.

DL Josh Frazier
- Good quickness. Excellent size and good stamina for a defensive tackle.

LB Nyles Morgan
- Best linebacker in coverage by far.

DB C.J. Hampton
– Big-time size and has excellent closing skills. Could even play corner.

Honestly everyone is very, very confident. Nothing to be worried about.

I got too wrapped up into recruiting last couple years because it honestly sucked seeing deccomitments and stuff but then I realized it's all part of the beast.

From Wiltfong:
Morgan is a baller. I know for a fact he was higher on some college staffs boards than Clifton Garrett.

He's a smart player too. Been calling the defense at Crete for three years. Plays fast, instinctive, lays a thud on ball carriers

Per Wiltfong - Morgan says it would be a perfect combo with him and Jaylon. Also, excited about Vandy academics and SEC.

Is that where Franklin is leaning? I know Shaw and Fisher are off the market. Sumlin said all the right things today too on the radio... not that it means much usually. It would definitely help us if he went elsewhere though.

Not too worried about Franklin here. Would it make it easier, maybe. However, I feel like Kelly already locked this down. He's a better closer than people give him credit for and in this situation he made franklin his bitch!

He already interviewed for Texas so he's looking.

Franklin is one of the few coaches in the history of ever to basically make public comments alluding to "I'm interested in anything that is out there, pick up the phone and call me."

The only way he's still at Vandy after this season is if he doesn't get an offer from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 school.

Yeah, he exudes class.

Heard on Fox Sports radio this morning then on Dan Patrick that he is one of the top candidates. I think BK is a good closer, but it couldn't hurt our chances if he were to split in the next day or two.

We all know how good a D can be when you have a fast instinctive thumper at ILB.

Fisher has a new contract, but it doesn't prevent him from taking Texas job according to espn which seems interesting

Double standard?

Saban signs a contract - no longer a candidate for Texas.

Fisher signs a contract - still a viable option for Texas.

It's pretty simple... Fisher's only pays 4.1/year and might have a much smaller buyout than Saban's that pays something absurd like 7.5/year.
