Per BGI, one of the reasons he's visiting and liking ND so much is his communication with BK. Further solidifies the philosophy that BK can have a big impact in recruiting he just needs to make the effort. Sounds like there has been a much better effort with the start of this class by him and the staff as a whole. Looking forward to that continuing.

Yeah, BK needs to contact recruits early in the process. Waiting until the end is never a good idea.

I don't know.

I can see this kid as having a broad disparity in rankings between the services.

But this kid outruns everybody, including his own lead blockers. The only reason he stays with them is because he looks to use his blocking as well to me as any high school recruit since Cam McDaniel.

He has a way of running past everyone who has an angle on him, yet he seems to be really good and prefer to run north - south.

What is he 200 lbs as a junior and the quickest and fastest on the field? Works for me!

All I saw was him getting tackled from behind lol. A lot, couple decent moves but nothing special

You sure you watched his most recent highlights?

There's some aspects I would like to see him improve on, but when he is willing to lower his shoulder, he becomes a complete runner.

I want him just to hear his name being called as he runs for a touchdown.

The good news is we are going to get our shot to make a move here and we're recruiting him very hard. Bad news is he sure seems enamored with SEC football.

Interesting little note: Ole 7/8 Ear Evander Holyfield is fighting former Presidential candidate Mitt Romney in a match for charity in May.

It sounds like we accomplished the main point of this visit and that was to solidify our spot in his top group. In his own words we did that. His time with Kelly made a big impression on him. He said that he'll definitely be back to visit in the summer and for an OV. Overall I'd call it a W. Per Irish247

Any quotes from Dad? Gotta think he'd enjoy Saturdays at the South Bend Country Club with the other player's parents and their accountants. Italics?

I believe Evander has had some significant money issues.

Do we still take him with Jones on board?

Only my speculation but I'd imagine we'd try for a scatback now, or perhaps an APB. Tony looks like thunder, now we're looking for lightning.

Of course, I could be way off but they way Kelly likes to spread the field, I'd imagine he covets a shifty, fast back to complement his bruiser.

SEC and Irish standing out?

Recent trips to Florida and Notre Dame appear to have made an impact on Holyfield, who called both "a good time." He called the Irish "a pretty great place just to go to school," and also saw clear opportunities for early playing time among two of his suitors.

"I would say Notre Dame and Tennessee, because they're so short on running backs right now," he said. "So I think that would be the maybe fastest places for me to play, but I feel like i'm the best at what I do so wherever I play I'm trying to start, so that's not really a factor for me

Visit schedule

Holyfield plans to narrow his list after the spring, making his decision "either before or right after" his senior season, and also recently took visits to Auburn, Tennessee and South Carolina. The recruit highlighted his relationship with Tennessee running backs coach Robert Gillespie, calling him "one of my favorite coaches that recruits me," and said "I think they're going to be pretty good soon."

As for Auburn, Holyfield talked about the program's atmosphere and track record.

"I would say the most is the family feel with the coaches," he said. "And the system and the history of running backs they've put out recently."

Yes his freshman year (if Bryant and Folston both stay), but only 2 ahead of him with max one year of experience his second year. I don't see Josh Adams getting a ton of experience this coming year or next with Bryant and Folston sharing the load. I do think Williams will get some touches just because of his athleticism. Not taking a RB in 2014 hurt IMO. The depth chart is pretty favorable I'd guess if you are a 2016 RB.

I am not going to pretend to be a recruiting expert but I dont see Holyfield coming here. Seems SEC bound to me.

I feel the same way and I don't really covet him the way I've coveted other RBs. He'd be a great pickup but I think we'll do just fine should he choose the Orange

Bet he'd be great on special teams. Maybe not punts as much... but definitely KO's
