Lol. Come on man their class is unreal. You can't possibly say that.

Overall, I like our class a little better for us. I'd love to have Ronald Jones, Ross or Masina, but I'll take Flex Williams, Crawford and Barajas and be more than confident they can end up better than them with better coaching. USC gained a lot of momentum down the stretch, whereas we didn't. Simple as that, but we still are ending up with a recruiting class that is on there level. It will all come down to coaching, so it's time to see what Sark is made of, and time for Kelly to step his game up.

"Site Assigned Optimist" is an understatement

Wow, guys I'm starting to question you guy's ability to read a post. Did I ever discredit their class? No. I even stated I'd like to have those guys, but come the f*ck on people. You are selling our guys WAY too short. Rankings aren't everything, and the film behind our guys is more than evidence to back up my confidence.

I agree that we have a solid class, but it lacks the star power that others have. Especially since '16 is expected to be a rough one, we needed to score on a few guys and came up short. Guys like Hilliard and Edwards come to mind.

Really? Considering we started the '16 class with a 5-star offensive lineman, I'd say it's going to be less than rough. Small possibly, but not rough. Hilliard was a tough break, but considering the guys we got at LB (Barajas, Bilal and Coney), I'd take that in a second. Edwards will only hurt if we don't land Farrar or Reid, which is possible, but honestly, I think wait for Buncom and Reid will probably see greener pastures at ND. Edwards was a big loss, considering our needs at Safety, but Reid is more than enough to make up for it.

Not a lot of star power, true, but honestly, can we really rely on star power anymore? It's really been hit or miss for us in recent past. I'd like to have instant impact freshmen, but I'd also like to have guys who, with good coaching, will develop into monsters. Fact is, very few elite guys in high school become instant impact players. They are either forced into the position before they're ready, or need time to develop and adapt to the college level.

With Ohio State winning it all, Jimmy landing in Michigan, and Sparty continuing their winning ways, 2016 is going to be a major challenge.

That's why 2015 is a big year. We seemed to do just fine this year, but we can get the star talent to jam-pack this next class is we do just one thing...

So I just got done watching this guys film. Not gonna lie...not overly impressed. I mean, don't get me wrong, he's good. But I'll never know why he's a 5-star. Bilal is more athletic, lays the wood down like him, and does it against better competition. He's a solid 4-star guy, around Bilal or Barajas level, but definitely not 5-star quality. Would've liked to have him regardless, but overrated IMHO.

He is very long and very, very good in coverage. The knack on Osa is in the run game and being physical. But yes I agree 5 star is a little to much, but he's also been to 100 camps and rivals loves you if you camp.

Very true. They might as well start handing out badges for each camp you visit.

I honestly believe he's a 2nd Jaylon Smith. Time will tell if this turns out to be a fair assessment.

I'm happy with who we have but Masina looks like a stud.

Masina or Barajas? I think it is very close..

Masina and I don't think it's that close. I think Barajas can be a good one for us but Masina looks like the real deal. He'll likely be starting by his 2nd year at USC, we'll get a chance to see how good he really is.

If Jaylon were to leave early, Barajas will be starting by his second year too.

I haven't watched his tape, but I thought I read that Masina is a linebacker that is good in coverage; Barajas seems to be a linebacker that will be really good at stopping the run.

It's hard to compare the two

Perhaps. Time will tell. We can easily follow the career trajectories of Barajas and Masina to see what happens. Happy to have Barajas, would've been elated to have Masina.

If Barajas has more production, I'll be ecstatic.

According to scout.com, Barajas is a better coverage guy.

Masina: Scout Football Recruiting Network Front Page
Barajas: Scout.com: Josh Barajas Profile

I think they have a similar skill-set. Athleticism, speed, range, aggressiveness and the ability to play three downs (they can stop the run, defend the pass and go after the quarterback). Masina has better size and frame, though. Both are great prospects, can't wait to see who is better.

ESPN their take

OSA- ideal set of measurables, speedy, fluid hips, very instinctive, sound tackler, reminds them of Kyle Van Noy
improvements-needs to add bulk, coverage ability needs some work

josh-good height on muscular frame, good straight line speed, decisive and plays w/ eyes, looks comfortable in coverage, quick striker and has strong hands for tackling, adequate hip fluidity

improvements-refine technique, improve overall speed

In retrospect, his front page pic weirdly looks like a mug shot.

Masina was one of my favorite recruits. I'm apparently an idiot.

I'm right there with you. I wanted Masina like he wanted to rape: badly.

Seriously, f*ck him and I hope the girl recovers.
