Dew-Treadway, Boykin, NO IDEA, McKinney, Tiassum

I was checking out all the gear they received for this game and noticed that Boykin probably wasn't picture ready based on hand position...

On 247 it says this isn't a ND issue. He had work to do in school regardless of where he ends up. Take that how you will.

I sure hope so, am really excited to land him! He is also needed desperately, so that adds to the excitement.

I'm trying to temper my excitement, this class could ill afford to lose PMac.

I watched most of the game and I thought he played soft. Being an all star type of game, I chalked it up to that and him not wanting to hurt someone or himself. I just thought there were a few chances to make some plays that were there for the taking. One in particular was a deep ball where I thought little effort was made to go after the ball in the air. Not a big deal, but I just wanted to see the ND crew ball out on national TV.

I agree with this sentiment. From a physical standpoint I thought he looked big and moved well for that size.

Probably himself more than the opponent. Pretty much why I don't watch the Pro Bowl or the NBA All Star game. Mostly players going thru the motions trying to avoid an injury and I don't blame them one bit.

all star games on TV really only provide a glimpse into the following:
shows the type of QB
can show speed (or lack of) of the WR and RB's and to lesser extend ST players (returners)
edge rushers on the D line guys explosiveness
interior DL domination potential

hardly set up to be any type of showcase for LB's, safeties, or OL IMO.

Like I and others have mentioned and now some confirmation from UCLA 247 site. ND is in a strong position here with McKinney but it does sound like we may "cut him loose" (that means academic casualty) but he's also a backup plan for UCLA.

I'd take that to mean they may not push that hard for him. However, they do mention there is bad blood between the two staffs so I wouldn't be surprised if they try to take him just to spite ND.

Same here. Was really hoping he would stick because we are very thin at Safety. I think he'll be a good one on the next level, unfortunately from all the smoke around, he probably won't be a part of our class. Just a total bummer.

Has there been any word on what type of academic work needs to get done? Is it like McKenzie where he could potentially get a high enough ACT score at the last minute, or more of a Byron Marshall thing where he just doesn't have the necessary transcripts?

I'm not directing this at you guys, but it feels like this is inevitable. Is ND waiting on a test score? This is so frustrating. I don't think it's a coincidence that the last time ND won it all incl a few student-athletes that wouldn't be admitted today. Additionally, the last time ND could argue for a NC, it was w/ players brought in by a full-time Recruiting Coordinator. While this role was eliminated at every school, I believe it was a huge asset for a school like ND.

That's just not true. BK has gotten PLENTY of kids that would be considered academic risks...same as when Lou Holtz was here, per several recruiting reporters. The problem is that many haven't been able to stay at ND...guys like Lynch, Kinlaw, Neal, Ferguson, etc.
