Greg Henson says that Rosen will decommit from UCLA and will flip to Michigan if Harbaugh goes there. Michigan/UCLA fans are going crazy!

Wow that would be huge for scUM! A few stud WR's committed to other schools may jump ship to follow Rosen.

Love it. As much as I hate Michigan, I hate UCLA. I am also tired of the MidWest being an afterthought. I'd like some parity.

This may be good this year but in the coming years it will make it harder for ND to recruit the Midwest. We already have to compete with Urbie and now Harbaugh too? Not sure we will like how that turns out.

I commented on this last night... early in the process Rosen was obsessed with Stanford because of Andrew Luck, and then Stanford didn't offer because Shaw didn't like him. Rosen was all in for Stanford if they offered.

The other thing to consider is that Mora is being strongly linked to a number of NFL jobs, especially the 49ers who are going to definitely explore getting a college coach. The 49ers reportedly also have interest in Kelly. There are going to be some crazy dominoes that start to fall starting Monday.

Really hoping rosen flips and Mora goes to the nfl, if it means Soso and/or Alize Jones reconsider ND.

Rosen tweeted this a little while ago:

I am 100% solid with the UCLA Bruins. There is nothing that could change me from enrolling on Jan 5. I apologize for any rumors that arose
10:48am - 28 Dec 14

Doesn't sound like he is going anywhere.

Gonna start my own rumor. I think Ricky Town would be much more likely to flip. fUSC

Harbaugh to Mich isnt going to suddenly make Michigan start getting all these kids. Michigan is Michigan. Its one of the college football elite. Top talent is going to go to Michigan regardless who is coach. Will Harbaugh recruit better than Hoke? Sure, itd be hard to not do better. When Harbaugh was at Stanford, Notre Dame wasnt losing kids to Stanford right and left.

Also, more than likely Harbaugh will run a pro style offense at Michigan, where he will recruit a different kind of athlete that Notre Dame recruits on offense. Defensively, thats a crap shoot every for Midwest schools. The more kids that come up from the South to ND, osu, UM, PSU, etc...the better. A power shift needs to happen for the SEC bias/dominance to stop and the requires ND/osu/UM/PSU to be good.

And Rosen. His attitude sucks. David Shaw didnt want to put up with his BS.

Comparing it to when he was at Stanford is almost like apples to oranges. For one, Stanford is not in the Midwest. 2 Stanford has not been a traditional powerhouse so even if they have a few years of success that doesn't make kids suddenly want to go there. And 3, Stanford is harder to get in and athletes have to take real classes just like at ND so if ND is going to lose a recruit to a Cali school it's not likely going to be Stanford. Michigan has struggled a little more on the recruiting front over the last 2-3 years since they have started struggling on the field and Hoke isn't a great recruiter. If Harbaugh turns them around like he did Stanford then Michigan will start raking in the elite recruits again and that will be bad biz for ND. Urbie is going to be coming off being in the 1st playoff so he will benefit from that. ND is going to have trouble recruiting the Midwest if they don't start winning and it's going to be even worse if Harbaugh has success at Michigan which I think he will.

Except that's not the case. See UM's 2015 class. Also, there was a time when ND could hand pick their class. That slowly faded over time. Why would UM be any different. There's no way to slice this other than being bad for ND. It might be good for CFB, but it's bad for ND.

I agree that its not going to be good for ND in any particular recruiting battle, but look how the SEC has ridden the coattails of Alabama, Florida, and LSU. The perception is that playing in the SEC is a big deal, even if its Ole Miss or Missouri. The SEC as a whole, and even the perceived SEC-style ACC schools (Clemson and FSU), have benefited.

The idea is that if Michigan and Ohio State reemerge as prestige destination spots for Southern and West Coast kids, ND is going to benefit--at least with the kids who like what ND has to offer.

To be great and get the elite kids ND will still have to start winning, no doubt. But it will be good for ND if playing up North is seen as a legitimate option for kids who want to play at the highest level and compete for championships.

I think this would only be true if ND was in Big10 but with acc affiliation not seeing how it will benefit us.

I understand what you're saying, I just couldn't disagree more. Basically you're saying that ND will benefit in recruiting based on proximity to a couple of B1G teams that have reached elite status. The SEC is a different animal. They've got 5 or 6 teams that could compete for a National title on an annual basis in Bama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Georgia and one school that comes out of the remaining schools to make a BCS game (MIZZOU, Ole Miss, Miss State, Arky...) They benefit because that conference churns out a ton of NFL talent and (here's the big one) the media constantly reminds us of how they're the best. What does the media have to say about the B1G? They suck, that's what they say. I just don't see how ND would benefit from two teams close in proximity that they don't play on a regular basis and are part of a conference that top to bottom is probably the worst of the major conferences.

The funny part is they edited out all of the cursing, and he still reads like it does.
