The "better off " assessment is probably better left for determination after years of another D coach providing the great service, on and off the field, that Bob Diaco offered our University and its players.

Hope that Rabasa seizes new opportunities. We're gonna need all these guys to take it up a notch.

Wut

The grass is always fucking greener isn't it.

What was said that was wrong? He didn't stop any of the better offensive teams ND faced, ever. It's not about the grass being greener - I've always just been so-so with Diaco's schemes/coaching and have always been vocal on it.

2010:
Mich 28 points
Stanford 37 points
NAVY 35 points
TULSA 28 points

2011:
Mich 35 points
USC 31
Stanford 28

2012:
PITT 29
Bama 42

2013:
Mich 41
OU 35
ASU 34
NAVY 34
Pitt 28
Stanford 27

Don't get blinded by the perfect storm of the 2012 season of great players and team chemistry. Diaco guided the ship admirably, but you're kidding yourself if you think this guy was a top-notch DC. The Navy embarrassments alone should be telling enough, IMO.

I think Diaco is better suited for the NFL then college.

because he reportedly "hated" recruiting? Perhaps, but i think he would get schooled as a DC in the Pro's. I think after UConn goes south on him he will probably look for an assistant NFL gig somewhere.

I definitely saw him on the field in pass rush situations on Saturday.

Did he take over Kolin Hills spot?

Where can I find the players minutes played game log?

He was the one who hit Winston's arm on the hand punt on think on the 1st or second drive.

Yeah, I noticed that. Rabasa has been getting some time. I think I saw him out there against UNC too.

A reliably productive WDE is the only thing keeping our DL from being utterly dominant most of the time. Would be nice to see Trumbetti or Rabasa take ownership of the position.

I think they were probably looking for more production from the spot and hopefully Rabasa can give them that.

Yeah, it may be that Rabasa just won the job. He was always a solid pass-rusher; the problem was that he just couldn't do anything else.

Of course it's possible that Hill hurt himself and we just haven't heard about it.

I wonder if they can still save his redshirt?

I think so, I remember he didn't play at all in the 1st game, but did play against Michigan. After that, any playing time he got was scarce, so I believe he's still eligible for a redshirt.

Would anyone refresh our memories on how red-shirting works again?

Three games in the first half of season, less that 20% of play time.

I do wonder. FSU was our seventh game, past the halfway point. Hill had played (and made some plays) but only situationally. Trying to keep his shirt red?
Either way, nice to see a guy like Rabasa get meaningful snaps.

Hill cant redshirt. I think it wasnt a good matchup for Hill with FSUs OL but not sure if he was banged up or not.

Alright, big Anthony!!! Maybe WMU can stop somebody this year.

WMU is a program on the rise, its the current home of former ND receiver Justin Ferguson also. They are gonna be challenging BGSU and NIU for MAC titles in the next few years
