I feel bad for him because despite 3 Super Bowl rings he may be remembered as a failure as a head coach. But when I see how much money he is making I don't feel bad for him. No trying to sound like a dick but it's hard to feel bad when he will continue to get paid and should have enough to live comfortably for quite a while where I have to work an overtime shift and spend 16 hours at work and miss the game and time with my wife just to add a very tiny amount of comfort to my financial situation I find it hard to feel too sorry for him.

Weis' reaction when told of his firing:

The Fraud continues to be exposed. Sadly, he continues to walk away with tons of dough.

I read this somewhere. I do not know if it is accurate. The writer indicated that the failure of Notre Dame's lawyers to put in a simple offset clause in his contract resulted in the Charlie Weis bonanza. Offset clause - amount Notre Dame owes Charlie Weis reduced or offset by amount he earns coaching football anywhere else.

Hire a good lawyer, not the cheapest one.

it was obvious KU needed a program builder and Weis was never gonna be that.

I won't feel bad for Weis, ever. He had multiple opportunities to make it work and he wasn't up to the task. In the rest of the world, you are fired without guaranteed contracts and you must fall to the level of your expertise.

Charlie will get paid as a CEO while doing nothing. I feel bad for children born in African slums, Charlie not so much.

Jim Rome is stealin' my material. I said this yesterday at 3pm on BP:

Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage) | Page 175 | BuckeyePlanet
Charlie has to be the smartest HC that ever sucked at being a HC. He's now collecting big checks from two different schools and isn't coaching for either of them. Maybe THAT's the schematic advantage?

How will Charlie Weis fail upward next:

1. CHARLIE WEIS CRASHES YACHT INTO DESERT ISLAND; ‘HAHAHA THE WHOLE PLACE IS FULL OF PLATINUM,’ HE INFORMS RESCUE HELICOPTER

2. CHARLIE WEIS GIVEN PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM AFTER NOSEDIVING PRIVATE JET INTO WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO BE A GATHERING OF SERIAL KILLERS

3. CHARLIE WEIS FIRES GUN INTO OWN FACE, WAKES UP KNOWING THE FORMULA FOR COLD FUSION

4. CHARLIE WEIS WINS POWERBALL LOTTERY; ‘WAIT, THIS ISN’T A DIET RED BULL?’ THE DAZED EX-COACH MURMURS AS HE EYEBALLS THE WINNING TICKET

5. GOD-EMPEROR CHARLIE WEIS, PRAISED BE HIS NAME, SLIPS ON SPILLED NEWMAN’S OWN LEMONADE AND FALLS BACKWARD THROUGH MAGICAL PORTAL OF IMMORTALITY; ‘YOU GUYS WANT TO KNOW HOW A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE ENDS?’ NEWLY APPOINTED LORD OF ALL CREATION ASKS HIS TERRIFIED MINIONS

Nice guy (IF you are in his inner circle). Sh!tty HC. His agent is a genius for writing up those contracts.

He is the one common thread in all of the guys we see staring on Sundays right now. They were his recruits.

Man, I had such high hopes for his tenure. Sucks he could not win with some of the talent he brought in.

Just reinforces the fact that he sucked as a college head coach.

FIFY

Yeah, he had some great players though, and other than some weak offensive lines at times he managed to score points...most years.

Manti, Hayseed, Blanton (7 more tackles today) are defensive guys he brought in as well.

Charlie didn't really develop any of those guys though. They came in as pretty gifted athletes, and for the most part they hit their strides under Kelly. I don't think you can seriously consider Manti a product of Charlie anyway, he only spent one season under him.

Just saw Weis is going to be a candidate for the Cleveland OC job. My God. Charlie Weis and Johnny Manziel? Opposites would NOT atrract in that case.

I wonder if they'd consider bringing him back to New England if Josh McDaniels gets one of the open HC positions.

Great. I have missed watching snot run down his face. Now I can see it again with my Cleveland Browns. Rooting for this team is a frickin nightmare.
