Ya Think!? I remember when Yogi Ferrel was rated the best 4th grade basketball player in the country. Big article in the paper. This entire evaluation, ratings, recruiting, specialization of sports has gone too far.

Yogi is freaking awesome!

Per 247 will move out to Cali and play at St. Bonaventure.

This being confirmed softens the blow a little bit.

Interesting to see the "job opportunity" that caused his entire family to relocate.

If one was to hypothetically move out to Cali to work in the LA area, where would one recommend living with a family?

Depends on how much money you want to spend and where your job is located. Commute direction is critical.

That's really impossible to answer. Unlike other metropolitan areas, there is no single center of the LA area as far as jobs and good housing are concerned. The sheer quantity of people here and impossibly large geographic area loosely defined as the LA or Southland area also makes it further impossible... (roughly 20m people across an area covering about 35k sq miles - Think more people than Michigan and Ohio combined and about the size of Indiana).

St. Bonaventure is in Ventura, which is far north and west... closer to Santa Barbara than USC (about 65 miles). The largest city nearby is Oxnard.

like RoJo and Nick Perry?

RoJo and Nick took official visits and committed late in their senior seasons towards NSD. After they had been big-time players on the football field I might add. Perry set the state single season record for sacks and RoJo was probably the best DB prospect the state has ever produced. Neither moved out to California before their junior years of high school.

Hayes honestly hasn't done anything either. Didn't play on varsity as a frosh, and he only played in 2 games as a sophomore because of injuries, and now he's already moved out to Cali.

Just never seen anything like it. RoJo totally wasted his talent at USC playing WR. He was never anything special at WR. He was however an unbelievable talent at safety in high school and a once in a decade type talent at that position. He would've been a 1st round pick at FS or CB, instead of a 6th round pick and bouncing from team to team at WR.

I know what a custody battle is...but I'm not sure what's going on here? Is one of his parents wanted him to stay in Mich?

Stay in OR go to ND?

Nah I don't think that would be the issue. Unless he's having second thoughts on whether or not he wants to leave the Midwest...?

If it is a custody battle it almost has to be that, right? I guess it could be a grandparent or something if he has a different legal guardian than his parents. I don't know their family situation though.

Apparently he visited Michigan for their embarrassment against Minnesota last weekend too. Hopefully that means he's open to more schools.

I did not see anything in the "highlight" film that stood out as spectacular.

He does a good job with his "contain" principles at least.

Didn't look particularly explosive as a pass rusher or run stopper, but he's got the size and athleticism to grow into a good football player. There's a reason he's a big recruit, I just didn't see it on that video.

Went to see him and Ricky Town play JSerra a few weeks back. He was didn't play because of a shoulder injury. They got run out of the stadium. After watching that tape it's safe to say he wouldn't have changed the outcome.

I agree with this. Physically he has the look of a very good LB prospect. He looks much bigger than he was last year (added 20-30 lbs) and IMO his lateral quickness seems to be the trade off. Straight line speed is there but quickness and agility seem to be a little behind. Considering how good he looked over the summer in that category I'm willing to be patient. Top 100 Junior but definitely not #17.
