I think Clark is probably a future NFL Tight End so I really don't care what he posts on twitter as a senior in high school.

I feel like I would agree with you more often if I could understand what you were saying.

What I am saying is some posters can sit here and blast a recruit and get reps for it. But then when I mock them and point out what they are saying, I am the bad guy.

Cool. I get that and agree with it. Don't be so defensive man. I'm not trying to be a dick but I actually can't understand some of your posts.

lol but we can sit here and point out a 16 years old life but you guys can say whatever you want about him? Got it

So to recap:

-I post tweets without comment.
-Multiple people post about Michigan's recruiting class or potentially poaching.
-Henges calls him an "attention whore"... which is completely legitimate, based on his entire approach to recruiting and all the attention seeking posts he makes on Twitter.
-GBDomer goes on his contrarian passive-aggressive shtick with "?" but gets no response.
-FightingIrishLover7 asks a legitimate question about his academics (because those were widely reported to be an issue with ND on many premium sites... not just message board rumors).
-GBDomer quotes him and drops the passive-aggressive MO for an incoherent aggressive one to elicit responses... and then gets defensive when called out over it.

Fun times.

Dude, thank you. Keep fighting the good fight against those evil message board posters. You're a shining beacon of hope in the dark amoral wasteland that is the internet.

Alright guys I will sit this one out, bash the 17 year old kid away. Yes the kid handled his recruitment wrong. Everybody knows that, fire away and Lax you are right.

Fightingirishlover to answer your question yes, he does have academic concerns. I thought you were being sarcastic. Sorry for being a dick.

Hammer- Sorry for the confusion and once again showing my ability to not complete a full sentence without having some kind of grammatical error.

You're right, sometimes I should just sit them out. Congrats on the amount of reps you will receive on this one.

GB... you're not wrong in what you're saying. I was more just taking issue with how it was playing out in the thread.

I think if you just quoted the post and said exactly what you're saying now... i.e. "yeah, he hasn't handled his recruitment the best, but let's try to be more mature about how we criticize a 17 year old"... that people would've understood and respected that. Sometimes it just comes across like you're trying to stir the pot instead of trying to communicate a thought. My 2 cents.

Per Sampson he's been talking visits to Texas and USC now. Also, Darian Roseboro de-committed from Michigan and it wouldn't surprise me if he does soon.

Is it just me, or does USC and Chris Clark somehow seem like a suitable match?

Go to Texas, young man!

This kid changes direction more than an airy fart in a strong breeze. Usually those types of prospects don't pan out on the next level - hope it's not the case with Chris. Good luck to him wherever he goes.

I just wish this thread would go away haha.

Was he looking around before the shit started hitting the fan at Michigan?

I'm of the opinion that you guys are still being a bit too harsh with the "wishy-washy" sentiment. He made a hasty, mistaken commitment early on, then made another commitment after taking visits and has stuck with it.

I don't think he should be judged for once again looking around. I'd be flipping from that dumpster fire too if I were him. I think we all knew that scUM was on a downward trajectory, but the current dumpster fire has reached a level that I personally wouldn't have predicted.

EDIT: I realize that a lot of you are turned off by his Twitter "attention seeking," and I can't change your mind on that. But I think his behavior is closer to the norm than many realize. He's a kid still learning how to deal with things. We've been fortunate as ND fans to have an interest in (mostly) mature young men, particularly in how they handle social media.

Right. I know he takes his thoughts to twitter, but to date, he's decommitted as many times as TJ Jones. Give him a break IMO.

TJ Jones was only serious about ND and Stanford, and decommitted from Stanford after a great ND visit which was spurred by his ND connections (late father).

Chris Clark has initiated contact and set up visits to several schools while being committed 2 separate times, including schools he has no connections or previous contact with. I don't even think the two cases are comparable.

The kid is probably being over-scrutinized, but he is not above blame. If you want to look around and make sure you are making the right college choice I am all for it - I just don't think he should have been committed to any school, let alone to Michigan after decommiting once already and obviously not being 100% sold (per his own twitter and contact with OSU, UNC, Texas and USC).

Ultimately though I don't know why ND fans care so much - he was never coming to ND. If he turns out to be a headache, he will be someone elses. Hopefully he doesn't, and is a productive player for a team not on our schedule.

totally agree on every point here. If I were to compare his recruitment it would be to Isiah MacKenzie whereby every new offer Clark gets from a big school is a game changer to him. Recruits with their heads screwed on right don't react like this.

I'd bet they are similar from an academic standpoint as well in terms of ability to gain acceptance to ND.
