Almost. It's a half-baked potato currently.

Almost. It's a half-baked potato currently.
I think the Rich Rod firing was their biggest mistake. He would have won there.
A baked potato wearing a headset may turn out better results at this point.....
Isn't that what they have right now?
He's better than what they have now....
No one should replace Hoke. He's a Michigan man, he should stay there for some time. Unless they want to replace him Ty Willingham, Charlie Weis, or Lane Kiffin. Then I would support the move.
So Charlie Weis?
Tennessee fans last night were telling me that they're terrified of Butch Jones leaving. I know Jones coached at Central Michigan but I don't think Michigan has the pull anymore to realistically poach Tennessee's coach.
He looks like he is going to turn it around there fast. His team plays very hard for him and if his recruiting class stays together, then he will have had assembled nice back to back hauls that will surprise next year IMO.
Harbaugh would be my choice.
It's not just Michigan vs. Tennessee, it's the B1G vs the SEC. SEC territory is rich with elite talent so recruiting is much easier. Bielema left Wiscy to go to Arkansas. I think we're at the point where being able to coach an SEC team, even traditionally poor ones like Miss St., is seen as a destination job. If you win the conference, even with 2 losses, you'll probably be in the playoffs. In fact during the SEC's title run only Cam Newton led Auburn and the 09 Crimson Tide were undefeated on the year.Tennessee fans last night were telling me that they're terrified of Butch Jones leaving. Schefter is reporting his sources say John is the one they want, not Jim and that it's quite possible.
Yes. This is my understanding too. They want Jon.
I believe John makes about 7 million a year. He'd have to take a pay cut, or UM will have to one up Bama and pay him more than Saban.

Any idea why? John is clearly a great football coach, but Jim is a UM alum, a proven, elite college coach, and has plenty of rumors circulating about him being unhappy in his current situation. Seems like he'd be the more attractive candidate, at least from UM's perspective.
Michigan's a much bigger job than Wisconsin. You can go to the Rose Bowl year after year at Wisconsin and no one really notices, or gives you the resources to do more. That's why Bielema left. If you go to the Rose Bowl at Michigan you're basically the second coming of Bo. Do it twice and you practically are Bo.
I think they'll expect a "better" coach than Andersen (just like we would). Whether they can get one is a different story.
His, um, rather strong personality may be a turn-off to some. Also wonder if there's some bad blood one way or the other from the last time around in 2011.
And it's not like John is without Michigan ties. Went to high school in Ann Arbor and coached for some Michigan Men early in his career. You could see him being ready to move on from Baltimore, especially after the Ray Rice business. And he'd be a huge hire for Michigan.
I think thats why he is perfect for college. By the time his players are fed up with his shit they are graduating.
