That's something I thought the defense did very well last weekend. Most of the time I had no idea who was blitzing in the Rice game

The turn to that is if UM is all worked up and gets hit in the mouth early.............. I never coached D1 cfb, by I have played and coached enough to know a head coach can certainly hype and build up a single game too much.

That was the most aggressive Diaco EVER called a game while at ND. He ran all kinds of blitz and press-man concepts in that game that failed so hard that he never ran them again following that game and went back to being conservative. It's almost impossible to be more aggressive than Diaco was against Michigan.

This brings a whole new light for me. Defn overlooked how complicated their defense is. It will be interesting to see if Golson can pick it up. This will be a real test as to how much he's progressed. Reading a defense was never a strong suit but hopefully the coaches have broken this down into it's simplest form for him

I don't remember us blitzing that much at all. I just assumed that our LB's were so slow last year that they couldn't return to the middle of the field in time. That being said, the times I remember them blitzing, it was about as obvious as Jesse saying B I T C H in any given episode of BB. I can reenacted the blitzing as such:

"Hey! Hello! Hi there! 'scuse me? I'm gonna be blitzing you this play, so if you could just stand there for a few extra seconds, that'd be terrific! Ok, thanks!"
