Liam Eichenberg is listed as a 3 star on the new rivals 2016 rankings. 247 has him as a 5 star things that make me wonder. Between Rivals and ESPN their rankings are always way off base.

Old Tweet. Both Eichenberg and Kraemer are saying the relationship with Warriner is something that needs developing.

Link in the tweet is to a good freebie on Eichenberg on 247.

He's #7 overall on 247 but the #27 OT on Rivals. I guess if they agreed on everything there wouldn't be a need for both to exist.

Scout: He said he loves NDs OL coach but he really didn't like BK. Overall he liked ND a lot but was concerned some with playing time due to our depth. Sounds like Michigan is right there at the top if not tops though.

Can you expand on that?

Kid of his caliber shouldn't be worried about depth honestly

He said, verbatim, that he didn't like BK? That's a bold thing to say and sounds like we will not be in this if he's worried about playing time and doesn't like our head coach.

Two posters on ISD debunked the notion that Eichenberg did not like BK. Both of these posters are close to the St Ig's program and said that Eichenberg and his father really like BK and HH. They also said the Eichenbergs did not really care for Urban Meyer.

That doesn't sound like something you tell a reporter. I'm calling BS that he actually said that.

To be fair, ND will arguably have the deepest and most talented OL in the country by 2015. Can hardly fault a kid, even one as talented as Liam, for being intimidated by the sheer volume of 4:s: OL we've brought in over the last two cycles.

Regarding the Scout article, it was a direct quote to Josh Newkirk (UM reporter) from Liam. It is also on audio. Maybe Liam misspoke. Another comment from Anna was OSU leads.

To be fair, if you're a stud and you have confidence in yourself you shouldn't worry about depth or competition. Cream always rises to the top!

You have to have more perspective than that. I think it would be arrogant for a player to be completely unconcerned about depth. Just because you're "really good" doesn't mean you're better than the other guys in front of you. Matt Ryan is a fine quarterback, but he probably wouldn't want to go join a team that already had Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady on the roster.

With OL, you want enough depth that you don't have to play early, but not so much depth that you are never going to play.

I think we are fast appproaching a 3 kid per year approach because of depth:

- 1 stud tackle +
- 1 stud interior linemen +
- 1 high upside project or gel-guy

That's 12 + 1-3 RS seniors for a total of 13-15 Olinemen.

I think you missed my point. Being confident isn't the same as being arrogant. He should have the confidence in himself to know that if he's good enough he will eventually see the field regardless of the depth. You're also comparing apples to oranges, five positions to one.

That's better.

He isn't seeing meaningful playing time until his 3rd year in the program unless multiple players leave after their 3rd year. Same goes for Kraemer in '16 and Jerry Tillery in '15.

But the smart move here for a guaranteed NFL paycheck is to attend ND... wait your turn in the premier OL factory and you only have to play a year or 2 to prove your worth to the scouts. You don't have to run the 4 year gauntlet like you would at lesser programs. The smart money is on improving your chances on not getting hurt when you're not getting paid.

From Elevenwarriors about 3 days ago. Lots of kids talk about playing together, but it doesn't always happen. Here's to hoping.
Ohio State's Important Ohio Recruits for 2016 | Eleven Warriors

The unique aspect of Eichenberg's recruitment is his connection to Kraemer. A few weeks ago, Eichenberg told me he and Kraemer have talked about have talked about playing at the same school. Although he has given fewer indicators than Kraemer, that would essentially make it a winner-take-all competition between Ohio State and Notre Dame. I am not confident in where the Buckeyes stand with Eichenberg; I am picking him to sign with Notre Dame.

Kraemer said in talking with BGI that a lot of the Ohio kids have talked about playing together at the same school and he's going to try and make that ND.

According to 247's profile, Eichenberg isn't scheduled to visit Notre Dame this season. He is however penciled in for Michigan vs Ohio State. There are only three home games left, two if one considers that he more than likely won't be there for North Carolina. Needless to say, it would be awesome to get him to campus this season and have Kraemer and Hausmann come to the game too

Also of note, Kraemer (Elder HS) plays Hausmann/Taylor (Moeller HS) this Friday. Hausmann then plays Eichenberg (St. Ignatius HS) the following week. The week after that, Hausmann/Taylor will play Crawford (St. Edward HS). Crawford then plays Eichenberg's St. Ignatius the week after that. Ohio big time parochial football is one big happy family...hopefully one big Notre Dame happy family.

Just looked at his tape, and damn if he isn't a prototypical LT. Really rangy, quick feet, great balance, and high level athleticism. Compare this to, for example Elmer's tape, who IMO didn't show high level pass blocking, which is why I always questioned him at LT or even RT (Elmer's tape was still very good). Would be the best OL prospect of the Kelly era, followed by Nelson IMO.

Last few years, we'd always say 'yeah but how often does that actually happen' and the answer was almost never.

Kids seem to be more inclined to actually coordinate their commitments with friends now. Hopefully it works out for us this time!

After reading EW about Kraemer, please make this happen! Add Hausmann to the list as well. Buckeye tears feed my soul.
