When players/commits threads are bumped and you're nervous: Did they get hurt or want to transfer or do something rash. With Deeb its like: What crazy workout did he do now or something positive he has done. What a guy. To hell with the stars, I can't wait to have him in South Bend.

It's going to be fun each week to see whether it's a running back in the hole, a QB in the pocket, or a wide receiver on a crossing route who gets the boom lowered. Kid walked out of the womb as an ILB

I hate making comparisons to pros, but come on... Urlacher.

Urlacher only had 2 D1 offers coming out of high school... Deeb was for the most part a 3:s:

Urlacher was 2 inches taller than Deeb is, but Deeb has 15-20 lbs on where Urlacher was coming out of high school.

This kid is going to be special. I can't freaking wait.

In all seriousness we are very lucky that he has such a great work ethic because more than likely he'll be getting significant minutes as a sophomore.

Do any of y'all have a decent grasp on ST? I'm not sure of who will play where, but I think Deeb would make for an outstanding ST player his frosh year. His senior film showed he gained some speed and lets be honest, he has the hammer of thunder. Thoughts?

I think he'd be great on ST. However I don't really like the idea of using the first year of eligibility solely for ST.

It has been a while, but one of the first things I noticed is this guy could cover. After Carlo's challenges, and people calling this kid slow, I was surprised. He looked like he could cover okay. Maybe I missed something, or have grown totally senile while I wasn't paying attention, but this kid had all that, as I remember it.

I'm not sure we can define the entire class that way (as a sleeper class). I mean, how do you say that a consensus top 5 class is a sleeper class. One site gave us 4 5 star players. If anything this is one of the more heralded class we've ever brought in. I think a better way to describe it would be deep. I think this is one of the deepest classes we've brought in since I've followed recruiting. Top to bottom there are difference makers.

Agreed. Pardon my poor ability to express myself. But I believe, as heralded as this class is, when it gets finished and the dust is settled, everyone is just going to go, "WOW!"

Case in point; the two lowest rated players are MDeeb and CRobinson. We were Deebs standout offer, and we were CRobinsons only offer, at least until very late. In my mind these two guys can both be real standouts! I see an extremely high ceiling for the lower rated guys in this class. With breaks couldn't this could be the most accomplished IRISH class to date?

Deeb has a little Tebow in him and I mean that in a good way.

1000 % agreed! This class has true leadership out the yingyang! Maybe I could have phrased that better. But the leadership is off the charts, and there is a humility, and a teamwork aptitude that I have not yet seen with TT.

I don't know about you guys but Michael might be my favorite player the day he steps on campus. Love this guys enthusiasm, should develop into a great leader regardless of his production on the field.

Completely agree, although I do think he will eventually be very productive on the field as well. His physical traits plus his heart / desire are a great combo.

Also the complete lack of depth in front of him. His sophmore year he'll be competing for playing time with kids that aren't even on campus right now, thats huge. I bet he's knows that and he'll be ready.

Been a fan of Deeb since his profile was first started here. He's what you want in a MLB.

if Deeb can cover like people are saying then he's gonna be the real deal.

Off the top of my head...he will be competing with current players Moore, Rabasa, Grace, Schmidt and possibly Randolph.

Has it been officially confirmed Rabasa will be moved to ILB come fall?

No, only speculated. Last we heard, he's running 3rd or 4th at ROLB, and I don't expect that to change. While Rabasa seems to fit the physical profile of an ILB, he's given little indication of being anything but a one-dimensional pass rusher thus far.

His career arc is similar to Utupo's.

Not as concerned about his coverage abilities early in his career. Manti couldn't cover anybody early in his career but as I believe/hope Deeb will show; they both don't give up much RAC.
