Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee lead

According to him: "The SEC is where it's at"

Being from Norman with no Oklahoma offer but rated this high is utterly miffing. And honestly a huge red flag.

OU took a commitment from a QB from OK that they preffered to Cornwall and Cornwall wants to play in the SEC anyway

We don't really need a top rated guy this year anyway with Beneventi in the fold for 2015...

Sorry but I don't agree with this at all. No way ND is banking on a 2015 recruit. We also need to take a QB since Gunner left. Are you trying to say ND shouldn't go after a top tier QB and settle on a lesser one?

It's pretty clear cut that we will take a QB this year. They are traveling all over the country to watch QBs work out right now.

No, I think ND needs to take a QB. I think they 100% need one this recruiting cycle. That said I'm not going to be disappointed if he's not in the Rivals 250 or whatever recruiting database you prefer. Beneventi is a stone cold lock (as much as one can be in recruiting) and will be a high 4 star player. If he fills out he'll be a five star. So I'm not saying we shouldn't take one, but just remember that Malik Zaire still has 4 years eligibility after he redshirts this year.

so we should take a scrub because a 16 year old is a stone cold lock and most likely to be a 4 star?

got it.

After 2014 the QB depth would be Golson, Malik, .... I think it would be a good idea to pick up a QB this year. One word:

Injury

Look dude, there's no need to be a prick about it. If we land a 5 star I'd be ecstatic. I'm just saying if we don't land the kid from Norman, OK that thinks highly of SEC schools I'll be fine with a kid that is more likely to take a few years to develop, and may never start. As long as he doesn't bail on ND when he's stuck behind someone for the next 3 years a la Kiel. I would take a Tommy Rees in this class. A capable QB that can come in when an injury occurrs and can hold down the fort when he's asked. A kid who leads by example and has the respect of his team even though he may never get drafted. There are tons of these guys every year that make a mark in CFB. What's so hard to see about that?

U can't predict Tommy Rees type QBs (or John Goodman WRs, Tyler Stockton DTs etc). U recruit the best every year, what role they take years down the line will work itself out

Do they not have the option to take Hendrix back? I know I've read somewhere that he's talked about taking his 5th year elsewhere, but I think he would be receptive to coming back.

Our coaches are being paid a pretty penny to find and develop guys like Tommy Rees, John Goodman and Tyler Stockton. If you recruited "the best" every year we wouldn't have offers out to several players we've seen offered. The point is - the staff thinks these players are worthy of an offer because they have potential to contribute down the line. You can't tell me that everyone the staff offers is viewed as a potential 1st round NFL draftee.

we have only offered three qbs, none of which are long term projects. the staff has no plans on doing that.
