This has been just one massive screw-up after another. Young man loses his life (whatever the circumstances that will be layed out) in a needless way.

The response by some? To loot and cause unneeded chaos. No, I'm not talking about the peaceful protesting. That shouldn't just be allowed, but encouraged. But those that took advantage of a tragedy.

So what's the response to that? A decision by law enforcement to turn the place into a freaking war zone.

I don't think this last escalation is actually racially motivated. I just don't think anyone there knows what the hell to do.

There was no frenzy until the cops showed up in riot gear to a candlelight vigil. There is no rioting now. Everything is counteracting the militaristic actions by cops.
