Interesting. Was looking forward to seeing the first #3 on the field for the defense.

Could mean Carlisle is on the return team with GAIII. That is a dynamic duo back there, if so.

Isn't Cam considered the better blocker between the two? If so, only one dude usually takes the kick back, and that guy should be GA3, imo. If that is the case, I want the better downfield blocker paired with him.

The depth chart lists Cam and and GAIII as the kick returners... unless something has changed

Having two guys deep, neither of whom can block, makes no sense. How about GAIII & Amir sharing one k-o spot and Cam always the blocker or emergency [lousy unstageable kick] number two returner??

hands team is usually one where offensive and defensive skill players are on the field at the same time.

"I just kind of realized it's not all about football," Luke said of choosing Notre Dame. "It's about what can help you out later on in life. Obviously, Notre Dame is that kind of place."

Luke was on hand for three Notre Dame games last year, including the win over Oklahoma in Norman, so he got to see plenty of Fighting Irish wins up close. Notre Dame's 12-0 regular season and ultimate spot in the BCS Championship Game had little impact on Luke's ultimate choice of school though.

"Winning didn't have that much to do with it," Luke said of last year's influence on his decision. "But I always wanted to go to a winning program. As far as winning goes, whether they're 0-2 or 2-0 doesn't really matter at that point."

-----

Hopefully others think the same way as Luke does.

Kill me for it, but definitely the RKG.

Bryant on verge of big year for Notre Dame football - South Bend Tribune: Football

CB Cole Luke
Luke was a big get in the 2013 recruiting class, and he leapfrogged some older teammates to win playing time last year.
The addition of Florida transfer Cody Riggs could put a crimp in some of Luke's playing time this year, but having too many corners isn't a problem many coaches will complain about. Riggs could see some time at safety, and Notre Dame's long-yardage packages will no doubt include numerous corners.
The 5-11, 190-pound Luke has a nice blend of size and speed to be an effective corner for the next few seasons. He played in all 13 games last season, but with Bennett Jackson gone to the NFL, expect Luke's playing time to go up significantly.

Really excited to have him and Watkins keeping us fresh at CB. Hopefully we won't see a major drop off once KVR moves on to shutting down NFL receivers.

So, is he wearing #3 this year? Seen that on a rosters. Much sexier # than 36.

Seriously love this kid.

He makes some mistakes,

but his head never gets too caught up in them.

Wow.

Yeah, he got picked on quite a bit against Stanford and Syracuse. I was getting a bit worried as he gave up some plays, but he also made plays. I certainly would like Russell back sometime, but Luke is getting some great reps and doing a fine job for a young guy.

I feel you, and I want KVR back, but I also want this kid to keep getting the reps. He's going to be a straight up stud next year and forward. KVR, Luke, Watkins, Butler will kill it next year (assuming KVR is back). Crawford will enter the mix as well I'd wager. Life is good at CB next year.

It's great that these kids are getting reps and we're still undefeated. Only makes us better in the long run.
