What other games are we competing with that week? Since ESPN doesn't have TV rights to ND home games it usually takes a pretty significant matchup (and a lack of other good options) for them to come to South Bend, because then they're basically just giving NBC 3 free hours of advertising.

Michigan State v. Oregon should be a better game and USC Stanford is on an ESPN affiliate. The one thing going for us is that this is the last ND Mich game in a while and that should be a factor.

I wouldn't even bet against that, but I don't think it's a lock.

MSU and Oregon will be two top 10 teams I'm guessing, but MSU doesn't carry much national appeal.

ND/Michigan has so much tradition and history (both quantity and quality of games), the ticket prices are literally over 3X that of the MSU game, and our recent games being really exciting (although sucky for us) will also help out.

I think the chicken dance + trash talk from Hoke saying we're quitting will also help our cause.
