Grahambo - don't have your #, so we can pick up the debate once you get back. But one final thought.

It isn't the point that LBJ couldn't win it all until he went to Miami, it's that even when his team was less talented, they still competed on a high level. Again, no one questions Melo's talent, he's just not a champion. Look at Duncan. He isn't the dominant talent he once was, but he is a consumant winner and leader. He and Pop LED a team of relative rag tags over the most talent rich teams ever assembled. Talent alone doesn't make a championship caliber player. Otherwise Iverson, Grant Hill and Tracy McGrady would be sporting rings. In my opinion, Melo is that type of player.

Couldn't have said it any better.

The best basketball player in the world might be coming back to your team and you are torn?

He has been my #1 villain in the NBA since he pulled that Decision bullshit. I have rooted against him with every fiber of my body and took way too much enjoyment out of the Spurs skull fucking Miami. I just am torn by the fact that I really want Cleveland to win a Championship in any sport, but if it is because of Lebron, it will make it less enjoyable for me.

No matter what happens, I'll say this: People may complain about how it gets talked about constantly on ESPN but free agency years where Lebron is up for grabs is the most fun offseason bullshit possible. It's basically a potential restructuring of the entire association's power structure in three weeks.

The thing for me is him coming back to Cleveland would really help their local economy.

I didn't like the decision either... but I am a firm believer that no man should be judged by one act in his life. If he comes back to Cleveland and wins a championship, it will give him the one thing Miami could never give him. His legacy.

Right now, it's almost like those two titles are tarnished because of the decision and the general distaste most have with players colluding to give themselves a competitive advantage. Going home and giving a title to a town in desperate need of something... anything... good... well, they may as well start building the statue downtown the moment he signs.

That's a fair point and I can assume he is a better man today for the lessons he learned and I need to let it go.

FML, the only thing that could make this whole thing even more conflicting is if JFF is actually a good QB for the Browns. My head might explode.

I hope James goes back to Cleveland. If he wins a NBA championship there, his legacy might be on Jordan's level.

Charlotte just did. Hayward is very underrated for only being in the league a few years. He's going to get better and better.

Well, sort of. He signed a max deal...but only a max deal as a RFA. Almost $16 millie a year.

Which is ridiculous. Same with Dallas offering Parsons $45mil over 3 years. I like GH and CP, but no way they're worth that.

Dallas can overpay since they're awfully close to contending. Utah will probably match the Charlotte offer.

As far as any Love to Cleveland trade: Wiggins will be part of that, and maybe Waiters plus a couple picks, but if you're Lebron you do not turn that down. That is almost a guaranteed Finals appearance (pending Love's health) and easily better than anything the Heat can put together. To be very honest, I'm not sure what Miami can offer. Wade will be getting 14-15 mil a season, and what's Bosh going to do, take the same? No way, he can make way more than that. I thought that Wade's health may come up and cause problems, but he looked great until this year.

For anybody who wonders why Wade has his knee problems: Dwyane Wade of Miami Heat regrets having meniscus removed in college - ESPN

That's why you don't rush into decisions.

When did FA start? It's little absurd on how slow things are going, and it's more ridiculous that the big 3 are holding things up for other players and teams.

Players can officially sign today. I also wouldn't say the big three are holding things up. Just lebron. The mavericks offering Parsons will speed things up though.

Well nobody is worth the money they get, but more power to them if they can get it. I think in a couple of years GH will be worth it. He was a tennis player in HS. Basketball was an after thought and if I remember, he didn't play much until his junior year. He's one of these guys where the ceiling is way up there and he's getting better every year.

I wish Melo would have went to the Bulls. I don't like or dislike either team, but it would have been awesome to see that Bulls team against the Cavs team, assuming that's where LBJ goes.

I would take that Bulls team over the Cavs team all day.

His defense and ability to distribute makes me like him a lot. The problem is he isn't a superstar and received zero help in Utah so he really struggled. I expect him to bounce back next year if he can leave. Maybe even if he doesn't.

LeBron owns the Bulls. Thibs hasnt figured out how to contain LeBron in a 7 games series, and that goes back to his days where he ran the D in Boston. Bulls would easily be the 2nd best team in the East, its just if LeBron goes to the Heat/Cavs, I think they would be top dog. Cavs roster is just as good if not better than when LeBron left it, and he obviously makes them immediately better. The way its being reported, it leads to LeBron staying in Miami. No further meetings with teams, Bosh publicly stating he is gone if LeBron doesnt return, Melo essentially saying hes going to the Knicks.

As a Cavs and LeBron fan, I hope he does comeback. I rooted for him in Miami to do well. I didnt like the decision, and I was pissed, but at the sametime, he had the balls to leave. The Cavs were a bad team. I mean LeBron left and they set the record for most consecutive losses in professional sports with essentially the same roster. If that isnt an indicator of how truly good he is, then Im not sure what is.

To answer GB's question on how Cleveland is......Cleveland is rolling the positive train. I think that if LeBron stays in Miami, some people will be pissed and hate him, but they are the same idiots that were burning his jersey. They dont get that sometimes there is a better job, better living conditions, better chance to be successful in a different place.

I personally dont know how Cleveland will handle Manziel, Kyrie, Wiggins, and LeBron at the sametime lol.

Id take Love over Wiggins. My guess is Deng could be part of a sign and trade to the Twolves with Wiggins. Wiggins has the talent in the world, but Love is 25 and hasnt entered his prime yet. Cavs would need to bring Wiggins along, and theres always a chance he doesnt work out. Love is young, proven, and already played with LeBron. Between AV, Bron, Love...thats a pretty good rebounding squad that can run.

Cheers to some good news for the Cavs Nation soon!

If it happens (and it won't) that LBJ and Melo end up in Cleveland and Chicago, I'll bet all of my vbucks that the Bulls go further in the first year. Overall, Cavs would have a better chance at a dynasty.

Bulls have a better coach (does Cleveland even have one?). I really don't expect Wiggins to be a star right away. And that Bulls team is just nasty.

With Rose and Melo, they'd be the best team, IMO.

Rose Melo Taj and Noah would be better the first year, yes. But if the Cavs get Love, I'd put my money on the Cavs.

TP, I don't see Wiggins staying in Cleveland if Lebron signs.
