per Intel

multiple sources believe ND is the team to beat

Let's hope it stays that way. Add he and Liam and we in business bro! Seriously, if we pull these two TOP OL from Ohio, then Harry need a raise stat. He probably does anyway, but that would seal the deal.

While I agree that HH deserves a raise for what he's been producing. The nice thing about guys like him and Elliot is they are life position/assistant coaches. Neither have desires to move up the food chain for head jobs or OC/DC jobs. It creates a level of stability at a key position group, IMO.

Oh I absolutely agree! If he were to move on to a bigger position I am not so sure he would even like it. It's just incredible to me how well of a job he does and the impact he has on his kids. I am so impressed with everything he has brought to the table for ND and anytime I can will give him a shout out. Nothing but class!

Absolutely. I also think that what makes Kelly such a good HC is getting good assistants at all spots and recognizing when one isn't working.

That's a really interesting thought. It kind of makes me wonder about a couple of them that moved on.

Visiting Michigan in a couple weeks. I think most knew he grew up a Michigan fan and this is the offer he wants.

Either way fuck Michigan

Wiltfong CB'ed him to ND. Steve expects him to take his time with the decision, but as of now sees ND landing both Kraemer and Eichenberg (mainly because of Hiestand).

Hell yeah, the future at O-Line just keeps looking better and better.

On a related note, is it unusual for Wiltfong to CB this early?

Kids jumping to play for Harry? Tell me this isn't the best thing for a solid foundation for the program!

If HH is the reason the Irish have the most talented depth chart at OL in the country and it were to continue that way year in and year out.... I don't care who is the HC as long as HH is happy. Give me the best OL and you have a chance to win it all EVERY year.

100% NOT joking.

The OL recruiting has been fantastic, but the OL hasn't been the best in the country in my lifetime, nor has it been the most talented, and it isn't now. It could be elite, but let's hold off on the HH statue.

No Alabama and Stanford have better O Lines then we do right now and many could argue Wisconsin as well. We are doing well but not nearly the best.

If someone wants to update the main page, ESPN has him at #60, #8 OT, 4*.

our run game certainly hasn't said beastly OL. The fact Tommy didn't have 9 million sacks is prolly their best stat as of right now.

Couldn't agree more with this post.

I still need to see more from the run game with HH. But the recruiting and pass protection has been incredible.

Ironman8 posted the following a few months ago:

The Michigan 24/7 board presented the following 2 year OL recruiting analysis:

Notre Dame: 12 OLs, Composite Average: .9358
Michigan: 12 OLs, Composite Average: .9281
Alabama: 14 OLs, Composite Average: .9136
Stanford: 12 OLs, Composite Average: .9055
LSU: 11 OLs, Compsite Average: .9045
Ohio State: 12 OLs, Composite Average: .9033
Auburn: 11 OLs, Composite Average: .8956
Florida: 14 OLs, Composite Average: .8844
FSU: 14 OLs, Composite Average: .8836

If that doesn't get you pumped for the future of our OL and offense as a whole, I don't know what will. Hiestand is a golden god.

That's obviously not showing up on the field yet, but we should start seeing it in a major way starting this season. We've out-recruited 'Bama, Stanford and Wisconsin on OL by pretty significant margins. So while you're technically justified in adopting a "Show Me" attitude, Crusader is also justified in arguing that we've got the most talented OL (at least on paper) in the country. And Hiestand shows no sign of slowing down his dominance on the recruiting trail.

We also play a tougher schedule than pretty much everybody else. I expect the production to really step up when you have Stanley, Elmer, Nelson and mcglinchey on the field. That is a lot of highly rated, talented guys.

This is the most significant change to the program as a whole that will translate to lots of W's on the field. Add in a QB with a rocket arm and mobility and then the sky is the limit. We now have the depth and quality to compete with the upper level teams offensively on a consistent basis IMO. Hiestand has just been a monster for us and it just seems to keep getting better. A dominant OL trumps almost anything on a football field and we are getting very close!
