Yep... Cardfan was a really bad troll. Everything was about Ty and why Charlie was getting the breaks that he didn't. He at least had intelligent arguments. Can't say the same about the troll who kept posting about the greatness of North Carolina basketball.

Not sure how anyone can intelligently argue for keeping Ty!

Evidently Hoke smoothed things over and Peppers is planning on only taking one OV and that is to Michigan on 12/13/13 and probably no others.

Can't wait till his HS Paramus Catholic is irrelevant again. Peppers was literally the whole team.

Kind of glad we won't be playing him every year.

Curses ..... was it bad of me to hope for some negative news for Michigan when clinking on a bump to the Peppers thread

....he also won the 200 in 21.13. That's incredible. Wasn't at the meet but my father said he looks like a man against boys

Michigan really picked up a prime time player, hopefully he'll still be too green come game time.

My guess is he doesn't have much if any impact on that game. Maybe special teams?

Peppers does have some guys in front of him also. Blake Countess will be a RS Jr and 100% all the way after tearing his ACL and MCL in the opener of 2012, Ray Taylor will be a senior that has started in a lot of games, Channing Stribling got a lot of experience last year as a true frosh, and Jourdan Lewis was the star of spring ball and he's put on a lot of muscle since last year. Dymonte Thomas probably figures to be in the mix somewhere at nickel as well.

Highly doubt Jabrill will be ready to rock n roll in the 2nd game of his career. I think he'll be a good player, maybe even great eventually, but even the greatest to ever do it at Michigan- a dude named Woodson- wasn't really showing out until late in his frosh year.

Could see him having an impact on a kick or punt return though. Jabrill is a play-maker with the ball in his hands and he's bigger, stronger, and faster than Michigan's go to return man Dennis Norfleet.

Hey Tom couple questions:
1. Any reason to believe the hype on Canteen? Is he really that good and ready to make an immediate impact?
2. How is Darboh post injury?
3. Funchess at WR? Why? Is it more Butt being special and wanting to get both on the field, or do they really believe in Funchess split out wide?

2. How is Darboh post injury?
3. Funchess at WR? Why? Is it more Butt being special and wanting to get both on the field, or do they really believe in Funchess split out wide?

I'll try to answer my best.

1) Canteen - I think the hype on him may be a little overblown, he's not going to be the go to WR or the star- that'll be Funchess- but Canteen had a great spring by all accounts and he's definitely going to play a lot both in the slot and outside. Canteen's footwork and routes are smooth, some have even said best on the team of all the receivers- and he's been out-shining the other frosh WR's- including Drake Harris who was an EE and was a high 4*/boderline 5* WR recruit.

2) Haven't heard much on Darboh to be honest. Jehu Chesson had a few really big plays as a rs frosh and flashed that speed. I'd be very surprised if he wasn't the fastest receiver on the team. He's also got that speed in a 6'3 frame. Canteen was a big star this spring and looks in line for a starting gig. Darboh might be odd man out.

3) Funchess at WR has more to do with Funchess being special than Butt. Funchess has always struggled blocking, he's horrible at it. He's always been more of a flex player than a real TE, and he's never been more than maybe 225- which might explain why he struggles blocking. He really should've been playing at WR from the beginning. He had an awesome spring at WR and he'll be Michigan's go to guy in the passing game. Butt had a pretty solid frosh season though, and I do expect him to figure into the passing game a lot more. He's definitely more of a true TE than Funchess and he can actually block a little bit, which should help make the offense less predictable. If Funchess was lined up in-line defenses knew he wasn't going to block, and if he was asked to block he was getting man-handled.

I will be expecting some good battles between Russell and Funchess then

Appreciate the insight Tom. I'll say it now, Peppers did well enough on the circuit that I'd be surprised if he doesn't make a play against ND this fall.

I think if they give him the chance on Special Teams this year that he'll make a lot of plays. He is flat out dynamic with the football in his hands and he's most likely already the fastest player on the team. They could very well end up putting him at offense instead of defense- he's that dangerous with the ball in his hands IMO.

I really hope he doesn't play offense this year. Or at least against us.

Woah... Still a little more impressed by the pic Greg Bryant put last week.

Because he's an athletic freak and will be the fastest player on the field. I don't want to be the victim of his coming out party, I could see him having some stupid, highlight film game against us just because it's the UM game. On defense he worries me a lot less.

On defense he will have absolutely no clue what is going on.

I'm more concerned with his 10.5 100 meter time and the fact that he was arguably the best player in the class than his physique, lol.

I'm with Koon on this one. I'll be more comfortable if he's trying to run with our receivers than if he's playing offense for scUM. If he's playing offense that early, it probably means he's going to be a legit weapon, and hence he's destined to do something huge. It's "ND Playing Michigan" science. Someone's gotta break out.

The only time it didn't happen was '12.
