Thanks to those that posted some of the ISD stuff. Very good perspective here. Personally I'd be happy with White knowing what you guys posted and his first hand interaction with the staff while on campus. I can't help but wonder what the situation is with Ross. Nobody has an update that i've seen. Did he actually visit? Did the staff not like what they saw? or Did they not get a good vibe on a eventual commit? I still like Ross more and with White on board it probably means we'll at least miss out on Ross or Reid, I'm assuming Ross. This is one of those that I'll have to defer to the people that know more than I.

TJ basically echoing what has already been said.


The staff loves Coleman as an Outside cover CB and he's more likely to stay there.

They loved White's camp performance (and film previously) Monday and see a combo CB/S, depending on coverages and scheme. He's a natural fit in coverages (feet, hips, etc) and in the back-end (instincts, range, aggressiveness, physicality, tackling), either as a Slot/Nickel DB or as a rangy FS type. Lot of versatility and ease of skill set adaptability here. Like Steve said, this one may end fairly soon.

And yes, they'd absolutely continue to pursue select top guys like Marshall, Ross, Sheffield, Reid, etc.

I thought I read a week ago that Ross was a scratch on 247.

Could be. Its been a little confusing. He wasn't coming for II but according to Rivals(II) he came the following week but they haven't been able to reach him since.

Coach D had some great insight on this matter and he basically says most of the DB's we have recruited this year can play multiple positions such as corner or safety and possibly offense so I think Reid is a take and I don't picture him being worried about competing with fellow commits for playing time, I'm sure Reid knows it's going to be competitive at ND and PSU and I'm sure he is very aware of our depth chart and the great possibility of early playing time so I don't think by taking White you are losing Reid. I see it as a win-win for ND

Scout: Plans to commit before Sr. year. ND leads. He will sit and talk with his parents. He comments that ND is looking for 1 more CB for 3 total (I comment on this because I think Tranquill's recent comment was off about ND taking 2-3 more).

Based on his quotes I would say he's ND and shortly. Unless he plans to visit elsewhere but I haven't seen anything.

Funny story from Loy. Apparently after they got off the phone the first time. Ashton called Loy back to let him know that his actual height and weight is 5'11 182. Loy said its the first time a prospect has corrected his size to be shorter and thinner. "I'm just trying to be honest." Ashton said.

Fact. Foster and VT have turned out more Day 1-2 high draft pick DBs over the past decade or so, than almost any other "big name" program over the same period. And the vast majority were those "lowly 3-stars (or lower)" that the elites and star-gazers didn't much want. Some would be shocked at this fact, but so it is and so it goes.

They wanted White badly and identified him early, obviously. After tomorrow, that's the way that goes, too.

With all the hoopla from Adam's verbal yesterday, I am not sure if anything was really clarified as to what we should be expecting for today.

I'm hoping it's a 2016 kid because it would more than likely be one of the very good o-lineman the staff is going after or Daelin Hayes IMO.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If it is a 16' kid, it will not disappoint. If it is White, that will be just as great though. Really like what he would bring to the table for us!
