I think if Notre Dame ran a pro-style system, or even a passing-focused spread, Eason to Notre Dame would be a no-brainer. Based on their offense, I had thought it was basically a no-brainer he'd go elsewhere initially but he really made it seem like the ND offer hit hard within his family and I think he's going to really listen to how ND plans to use him.

I'm curious how exactly we DON'T run a pass first spread when we've only used a mobile QB for maybe 40 quarters of Kelly's entire tenure... and he ran very few designed run plays.

BK's offense isn't designed for a running QB. It's meant for a QB who can be elusive with the feet and quick. So yes, it is a pass first spread. I don't know what he was talking about.

Smells like neg recruiting to me. Doubt the staff would say, "we're a run-first spread, but we can make it work with you" rather than, "we've been trying to be a pass-first spread offense and YOU'RE the missing link to take it to the next step."

Of all of the highlights I saw on the few 2015 possibilities, I think I'd rather Eason is our next QB commit.

If staff could get him to commit early, I bet they'd pass on 2015 all together.

And if Eason flips to somewhere a day before he is set to enroll ND risks not getting a QB for two straight years. Simple answer. No.

Do you have GB spell-checking for you today?

No, thanks for pointing it out. I am thinking I wrote eas, paused and it filled the "t" in. Or maybe it was one of my unconscious moments and I just wrote it wrong. Fixed it.

With how overused "awesome" is, I'm not sure exactly how awesome Eason was.

If Weis taught us anything it's that you take a QB every year no matter what. Not taking one in the class below Crist killed ND fball.

Imagine Golson plays 2 more years. then Kizer beats Zaire out, Kizer goes down with injury and you have one QB on the roster. You always take a qb in every class.

Agree 100%! You have to take a QB in EVERY class at the very minimum or you suffer watching abysmal ND football (at that time) & I don't care to go thru that agonizing experience ever again when we should be the top program in the country year-in, year-out, PERIOD! #GoIrish!!

You think Eason is overrated because he has a great coach and plethora of good players around him, yet he gets all the credit?

Yeah, that's funny. Brady owes all of his success to the world class receivers he has.

I think Georgia is the leader for Eason... if Eason decides to leave the West Coast. And I have said I think he is the best QB in high school right now.

He has obviously been helped somewhat by having the Jets playbook.

Given that ND appears to have legit interest from Eason and Henry, I won't criticize the approach.

Me either, I'm 100% behind that strategy for a number of reasons.

I was JW if there's another QB in 2015 we're going after or not.

Its funny that Tommy Rees may actually help us in this recruitment. Jacob mentions that the staff will cater the offense to the QB and uses Tommy as an example. IE don't say Tommy didn't do anything for ND, haha.

You don't need to be mobile when you throw that accurate, you can have a great OL to protect you and the running backs who will be happy to run

Question for the recruiting & QB experts...

Is he a good fit for the offence BK wants to run or would Henry be significantly better?

Henry would be a much better running fit. Eason doesn't have near the mobility as Henry.

However, BK was successful with Tommy Rees in the shotgun. Eason has significantly more arm strength and accuracy then Rees. We could still run a spread, just less read-option.
