I think DeShone Kizer >>>> Blake Barnett. It is just the way I am wired.
Were damn lucky he turned down that Toledo basketball scholly!

No way Jose. Barnett is gonna suuuuuuuuuuck. He's obviously indecisive, and his mobility actually isn't all that impressive. And his arm strength? It's practically a mirage.
It's funny because inevitably someone from another team is going to stumble upon this post and be like "OMG ND FANS ARE DELUSIONAL" haha

It's doubly hilarious because Michigan went after him HARD early while ND/OSU were still evaluating him and pushed for an early commit. Then ND/OSU get in the race and all of a sudden they magically don't want him anymore? Yeah, OK.
I generally tend to agree we can get like that, but I think the majority of minds have been pretty rational with regard to our big decommit and openly admit they would take him back instantly.

God the scUM boards are freaking hilarious. "We don't need 5'8" corners." "Good thing he's going to ND, he wouldn't have seen the field with our DB haul." "No one else wanted him anymore, his frame is too small for our style."

After watching his film for the first time, I've got to agree with the resident michigan fan above that Crawford looks realllllllly good at safety. Despite his size, he was laying the wood on fools and noticeably moving the pile every time he hit it. Impressive for a small guy. He knows how to turn his speed into physicality at the point of attack.
Which of course makes me believe that he could be even more perfect as a primary nickel back throughout his career, though a great emergency option at safety down the road. Shumate was super impressive as a star/nickel his freshman year, and I think Crawford can be the same type of physical presence (despite his size) while also being able to excel against crossing routes with a good trail technique (thanks to his speed).
C'mon man, that's just how the recruiting sites go. Tons of idiots on twitter, facebook, and internet message boards.
As a Michigan fan, I definitely wanted Crawford. I see Crawford playing more safety than CB at the next level anyways. He's a heat seeking missile, kid loves to hit, his tape is full of knockout shots. Height isn't as important at safety as it is at CB anyways. CB's are manned up on the island a lot, safeties usually are playing the center fielder. Crawford is a big hitter and he's got the speed to cover lots of ground and in a hurry.
Crawford might be 5'8/5'9, but he's built solid and he's fast as hell. Crawford is running a laser-timed, legit 4.4's in the 40. That's flat out blazing fast. 9 times out of 10 the 40 times are fake on the recruiting sites. Not his.
Good pick-up guys.

I just watched his highlights and i'm very surprised with his style of play, he is ultra aggressive and instinctive. A dream for any creative defensive coordinator because he can play the game in so many ways. Reminds me of Joyner, Mathieu and that type of hybrid CB/SS. Small but really tough, i love it. I did not remember that type of player at ND. Maybe Slaughter who was a great punisher as well and had the versatility to play OLB, SS, corner.. a very good overall football player!
Slaughter was definitely a very nice, versatile player, although not quite in the way Slaughter Crawford is. It could very well be similar to whatever we end up doing with Riggs this year.
I agree.. i meant that he had his versatility, ability to hit and create plays in a lot of ways. For sure Crawford is the best commit until the date and one of the best recruits of the Kelly era easily. Impressive player.

Sounds like his performance at II was everything and more than the ND reporters expected.
Best player on the best team in Ohio (and preseason #7 in the country).
Add 2 inches this kid is an unanimous 5no doubt
Reminds me a lot of Brandon Boykin
