When I said 8-4 I was being generous. Finishing second and third in your division is nothing to beat your chest about however. This year he could finish fourth or worse in the West. That's not getting it done in my book.

I don't think they're going to be contenders for the foreseeable future, considering they went 8-4 with Manziel, but they should be pretty damn good. JFF has given them a lot of recruiting momentum (Texas' issues have also been a godsend), and the luster hasn't yet worn off. Still, it should be tough for them without Manziel for a while.

Your book probably also thinks 11-2 is a shitty year haha. I just think A&M should be a little more realistic considering they were a middle-of-the-road Big 12 team before Sumlin showed up. Just my opinion.

Yeah... maybe I am being too hard on him. I like him as a coach... the Aggie fans... not so much.

T-Cube has a good point though-- even with a good record, if you're still only (at best) the 3rd best team out of 7, fans will probably not be too happy with that.

And they know the team has been amassing talent. Mack and UT beat them at that for years, and they are know taking every opportunity to let big brother know they are the hot team in the state right now.

I can see fans getting frustrated with mediocrity.

Strong is gonna get the Horns back.

A&M will be on fumes soon.

I tend to agree, when they got 6-6 this year and their offense sputters, I think A&M will gradually go back to what it was, the 2nd tier Texas school.

3rd or 4th really.

Oklahoma and Okie St grab a ton of dandies. I know they're not in the state but their roster looks like a Texas team.

Hell Tech might even surpass them with Kingsbury.

Doubt it. They've been recruiting too well to fall behind Tech. I think eventually Texas will take back over but A&M won't be far behind.

If Allen is legit, I'll agree.

But I'm gonna disagree with sustainability if you think that's gonna happen.

You'll see.

IF Sumlin sticks around I think they'll be pretty good for awhile. They may have a somewhat down year this year but they've had a few really good recruiting classes in a row.

If the potential down year this year causes this class to fall apart then maybe they crumble in the years to follow but I don't think so. I believe Kyle Allen is the real deal so if they keep that offense high octane and exciting, they'll continue to attract top recruits. Also, I bet Murray will be a perfect fit in the offense as well when Allen leaves or if anything injury wise happens to him.

I'm sure Texas will eventually take back what's theirs but I don't see it in the immediate future.

A lot of predictions for a Bama flip going into the Opening.

lol i don't see how a recruit comes back from the Opening and goes "you know i really need to think about my future after football and get a world class degree". The whole thing is a NFL fantasy factory.

Good point so...

Jalen, text ya boy and tell him Z-Mart is gonna stop by in his S65 AMG and take him to Morton's for some red meat while he explains to him how he became the first rookie all-pro O lineman in 70 years.

Good lookin out Dublin!

Not to s*it on Heistand and crew, but A&M, and they've had three 1st rounders in 3 years, including #2 and #6 overall, so they at the moment I'd say they have more bragging rights than we do.

I was kidding, I didn't say we were better than them for O lineman (in this thread at least), He just decommitted from A&M btw so that doesn't mean that much to him obviously. and Martin lives near him, plays for the Cowboys, who there is a very good chance is his favorite team. If Martin did what I said, (and it were not against NCAA rules) it sure wouldn't hurt ND's chances in Little's recruitment. Once again, I was just kidding. I guess I don't understand your response.

I actually love the idea (not kidding), I just don't think anybody in the country is can one up A&M at producing left tackles in recent history.

If we somehow got him would this go down as the #1 OL recruiting class of all time?

I really like this kid! I don't think that we have a particularly good shot at him; but he is the kind of kid I will always root for (almost) no matter where he goes. (I never root for anyone against the Irish.)

And though it would be nice, I am not sure how great our need is for his services. Actually, his film is some of the best I remember seeing, but I don't think it is light year ahead of our commits this year! In a way as good as he is actually makes me feel better about Tommy, Liam, and Parker!

Bogs, don't kid yourself. You WANT him bad enough to take a naked lap. Guys like this don't grow on trees because Sequoia's don't bear fruit!

If he came to South Bend, he'd be the right tackle as soon as McG left and maybe good enough to bump Bars to RT. The Irish will be fine without him but .... it'd be a lot cooler if he did... go Irish.

Sorry to channel my inner McConaughey, I'll see myself out.

I hope this isn't some kind of curse. ND won't win a championship until it can sign a Greg Little? The curse of the Greg Little? The Greg Little(s) that got away? Seems like everyone gets a Greg Little except ND.
