If Tuitt jumps ND might as well run a 5-3 next year
Mike Frank thinks he is gone.
I know he got a second round grade, but I can't see him falling out of the 1st round. IMO should be a top 20 pick.

Could be a year where we have 3 first round picks.
Hasn't happened since '94 (Bryant Young, Aaron Taylor, and Jeff Burris)
Who we thinking could be the third?Could be a year where we have 3 first round picks.

Wow I totally forgot about martin. I agree though he should be drafted in the first round.Martin. In fact, I can actually see Martin going ahead of Tuitt.

Dude, I was racking my brain when I read it and refused to scroll down until I could figure it out. That lasted all of 10 seconds because I had no clue lol.
Shame on me. Especially because a couple of months ago in a thread people were saying that Nix and Tuitt would be bigger losses, and I was saying just how important LT is and how incredible our LT is.
Lax...film says absolutely he's a first rounder. Measurables will say differently, mostly bc he is not the prototypical height and he doesn't have the super long arms pro people want in their tackles. It will be interesting to see which one wins out...
Tyson Jackson was a relative unknown heading into the draft, had a great workout, and ended up going 3rd overall.
Tuitt could easily crack the top 15 (or even higher) with a great workout. NFL teams are always reaching for DEs because it is such an important position.
Lol it's probably best not bringing up Tyson Jackson in the same sentence as Stephon.
He's had a decent career so far you could say, but he's a bust considering he's grossly underachieved in correlation to his draft position.
folks: better to have him than not; that's for sure. But imagine this--- a]. the "big white boys" [Springmann and Hounshell] get healthy, and b]. the new DC not only decides to go heavy 4-3, but sees certain "CATs" as 21st century DEs in that scheme. THEN ND rolls out a DLine with the following features
first set: Williams// Jones// Springmann// Day.
second set: Okwara// Hounshell// Hayes// Rochell.
....that seems to me to be awfully darned good.
It also would beg the question about some alternative thinking about the linebacker array; namely a true Middle with 21st century athletic speed studs on the sides. This might then actually get the three best athletes on the field ---
JSmith// Grace// Counsell.
One can then ask who would be the back-ups from the Deeb, Randolph, Moore, etc. pool, and that's a way-foggy vision, but I wouldn't mind seeing a slobberknocker like I hope Deeb is in the middle, with some real athleticism beside him [ including possibilities like Turner or Baratti.]
I prefer Stephon back, but if the white boys [including Grace] are healthy, we might [with a masterful insight by the new DC] be formidable anyway.
... OK; scratched that itch, now back to lurking......
I choose to live in denial about Tuitt leaving until I hear something official.
I asked this yesterday and no one answered, but is there any particular reason why sentiment is trending heavily toward "he gone?" The general sense through December seemed to be 50-50, but since the bowl game more and more people seem to assume he's leaving.
Why? Is it just that he hasn't come out and said otherwise? Was it that second-round draft grade? Some other set of tea leaves? (because I haven't seen a tea leaf worth reading yet).
I think the biggest piece was that he submitted his paperwork for an evaluation.
