That would be uber crappy if 3 big time prior alleged ND leans committed to OSU on one of NDs big recruiting weekends. It would totally detract from the weekend. Mind you, I could actually give two ishs about Clark and Cornell

I know you said alleged, but just as an fyi for others as I've seen this many times, Clark was never a lean to ND. He said some nice quotes about ND early on, and more nice things when he visited, but he does that for EVERY school. His actions and then his quotes to other schools' reporters have always shown him to be a kid not truly interested in ND. Throw in iOS horrible grades and ND was never going to be a good fit.

Truly sad if ND misses out on Hilliard, but I can't let it get me down. There are plenty of other solid LBs out there in this class. Maybe not of his caliber, but definitely solid. Hopefully ND can pull off the unexpected though. I could go for an "All is well" right about now.

I don't know where his interest in joining Clark or Harris came from, but I hope Hilliard doesn't base his decision on this. It would be a total disappointment. He is one of the few elite RKG recruits out there, and for him to go to a school that shuns the idea of taking the academic side of the student athlete seriously would be just sickening. I'd hope that his relationship with CURRENT ND commits Shaun Crawford and Elijah Taylor and actually know him in his community (In Taylor's case) would influence his choice more than a few guys that COULD follow him elsewhere. I really hope he makes the right choice and chooses the school that has worked harder to show him what he would mean to Notre Dame and what Notre Dame would mean to him.

Lol and the cred with that comment is gone. Hopefully, he shocks us and picks ND.

I don't think anyone has an inside track on this one. Just my feeling.

Package deals rarely work out.

I like Hilliard a lot and want him badly. I hope he comes, but I agree that it doesn't look good.

If we get Barajas, Billal, and Baker, though, I won't miss Hilliard.

Did I miss something on Baker? I didn't see anything in his thread.

He's twice as likely to go to OSU than Hilliard, IMO.

Yup! I kind of have a feeling (more like a hope) that's how things are shaking out.

Side note.. a lot of people like Hilliard best at MLB. But I like our incoming freshamn MLB a whole lot.

Definitely. ND will still be good at LB even if they miss out on Hilliard. That's not what I would be disappointed. It's what Hilliard would be missing out on. I just feel that he is truly an elite RKG, and those belong at ND, not O$U.

I don't think he's implying that they're a package deal. He just wants to get that group together to play. Think of them as his groupies.

Per Loy,

He thinks it's closer than people think, neither OSU or ND feel like he is theirs.

He's spoke with two ND commits who think he chooses ND.

Loy said it will come down to this weekend.

Lets face it Ohio St. isn't exactly killing it in recruiting so far this year, their class is average at best.. 7 Commits so far. They play a shitty schedule against crappy teams for the most part, and Notre Dame's academics trumps Ohio St. by a long shot. Didn't someone mention way back that Hilliards dad is a principal or some sorts like that where he knows the value of a good education.. That's why I think we pull this one out. If he was truly set on going to Ohio st. he wouldn't even bother coming back to Notre Dame when he was just here last week.. If I was a recruit and knew that Ohio St. is where I'd want to be I'd be spending the entire weekend at Ohio. St.

Groupies can really drag you down, though. Got to learn to rise above.

Hilliard is good friend with Josh Barjas, close with Crawford, and attends the same church as Elijah Taylor this only can help us..

As far as the Tweet about his boys... remember we are watching this thing from 30,000 ft. with a lot of hindsight experience on how these things play out.

From his view, I'm not sure what it looks like in terms of where all of those other guys are going.

ATTENTION:

There are good reasons Justin may want to attend Notre Dame.

There are good reasons Justin may want to attend OSU.

There are good reasons Justin may want to attend ___ school.

All the "I don't understand why [elite recruit] would choose [other elite football program] over ND is starting to get really old. I've been guilty of it in the past but it's so pointless.

It's a marathon not a sprint. Where Ohio St's class is right now, in June, means absolutely nothing. They are in the lead group on a bunch of elite athletes, and Urbie can recruit with the best of them. If im Hilliard or any recruit I'm laughing at that excuse. Their class will be fine in the end, bc they close really strong every year.

Yeah, OSU is going to have a sick class. They don't take the Brady Hoke approach.

So I was optimistic til I saw this as a reply to Hilliard's tweet:

Harris using the same emoji as Hilliard. Now I'm convinced that they're all in on the joke and it'll be OSU for Hilliard. Damn.

I don't buy it. Harris is just joking around, knowing Hilliard is ND and wants Harris at ND. Harris knows this, but plays it just the opposite, that he's OSU and hopes to pull Hilliard. His polite way of saying we only play together if you flip to OSU.
